R32 Dry Carbon Parts(Doors,boot,bonnet)

Recommended Posts

if you are after cheap china carbon overlay stuff go to the sponsors section and grab a bargain

if not read on

all parts Australian made

all parts Carbon fiber, dry laid, vacuum formed and resin infused with a clear gel coat finish

This gives them a very good weight to strength ratio.

eg same shit as f1 cars

if you happened to be a world time attack and saw the carbon r35 gtr's the guy who made all the panels for them makes this stuff so its the shit

prices as listed if we get more than on order we get a cheaper price ( thus the group buy)

ill put up a price in fiberglass later if people are interested

carbon doors $3,800.00 pair

These are made to take the OEM hinges, lock and internal handles. For ease of install and operation.

They are also made to take a polycarbonate, fixed window( additional cost)

r32 boot $1800

This one is simply aero catched down but they are normally made to take the standard hinge set up.

R32 bonnet $2000

Again this one is held down with aero catches. But we can easily make it to take the OEM hinge arrangement.

prices are out of this world.

you can get NZ made carbon bootlids for $700

doors are like 1200 a pair from NZ

same with full carbon dashes can be had from US for 1000-1200

think this guy is having a lend of you bro.

link me

would be interested to see if its the same type of carbon?

because i can get "carbon" stuff for the prices you say but its not the carbon above

it would be plug molded not vacuumed formed to start with. i don't remember the mob in the NZ starts with a R but have bought from them before. it wouldnt be up to the quality of above but for price comparison / fitment you would be out of your mind to spend the money above. on another note even some of the china stuff has extremely good fitment these days.

How u can even compare china shit to this is stupid. Pricing is fair enough as its top quality !

Just for the record I have an oem boot n bonnet as above from custom carbon for 3500 as I sold my car

Price seems very fair...

description is a little far fetched F1 technology is a bit more advanced than resin infusion.

I have a few contacts in the F1 composites world and they are all using Pre-pregs.

I am very interested in talking with the guy making this stuff, I make the same products in the same way and I would like to support his business.

You have a PM Fatz

Great to see more people out there making this stuff.

Noy

That carbon dash baby jesus smile! need to get some of this same gear but for R33's

Top quality workmanship thats for sure

That carbon roof also that reminds me of that silver R32 that Garage Saurus built that was featured in HPI a little while ago, simply epic!

The guy's at Custom Carbon can do R33 GTR parts to if cost is a bit hi for most of you they make them in fibreglass too and it's the same process as the carbon one's I think they are about $1500 and when they are painted they look and fit just right you can't compare to the shit that comes out of china.

  • 1 month later...

The panels made in nz are same build as whats in china fibreglass backed with a single layer of carbon fibre for looks.

Also fatz what do the doors with the lexan windows weigh & price on them.

cheers Jason.

    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
