another thing I've noticed running e85 for dd all last week was how much smoother the car feels on rev up, even gear changes feel smoother

also significantly less carbon output in my exhaust tips

I was heading out at night doing quite a few tests and logs so I can't comment on typical dd fuel consumption yet

ive been running E85 for a good month+ now. Im getting around 290-320 kms to a full tank inner city driving. Thats around 50km less than i was getting with 98ron. However, the smoother running, lack of carbon build up and midrange pull far outweighs the extra mileage

added some HKS SSQV 4 bovs using the HKS R34 flanges so i could mount to my oem intercooler piping

may just be a placebo but im pretty sure the responsiveness getting on/off throttle quickly at mid boost is better and a touch smoother

recirc'd they sound great (together with the TS intake and larger TS turbo inlet pipes), not ott loud, just enough to know they're there - they fluter at low boost and dump at high boost

also ordered one of these + a gm flex fuel sensor to monitor my ethanol content - and have 2x 20L drums of E100 (from racefuels) just in case the local caltex brew dips in the low 70s

Caltex is pretty much bang on E70 last few months. Only saw a bit of a dip in the middle of winter (mid 60's) prob for a little cold start help, but since then, E70.

Can the Cobb take the digital signal from the Gm sensor to alter the tune on the fly? Not sure if you know, but Trent @ Chequered set my car up with the GM sensor and a Link G4 to be completely flex-fuel capable, ie, tune will alter real time depending on the content/mixture of 98/E85. Safer and optimum performance.

Gohan no the Cobb can't adapt on the fly just yet

But I can monitor the ethanol percentage with my Zeitronix + gm fuel sensor... and I'm already hard wired for when/if Cobb release flex mapping

I do have those drums of e100 just in case I get a bad batch of e85

I've been running the caltex e85 with no issues at all, a testament to the safety margin Martin built into my map

The latest map Martin sent me feels like the boost comes on harder at lower revs, and Im getting all 4 wheels spinning through the midrange in 3rd now lol

The easy datalogging with the Cobb has proved invaluable in continually tweaking my tune. I email the file to Martin and he emails me back a revised map. 5 mins later it's uploaded on the ecu

Re LSP, its opti-coat + prima amigo + naviwax dark - I'm a hobbiest detailer and among the 30 odd waxes I have (collect) naviwax is my numero uno pick at any price point

Hey man, looks killa. I heard about this opti-coat stuff and seen some vids on YouTube. Where do you get it from, along with the naviwax?

the opticoat I had applied by a pro, immaculate reflections. You can buy it from zas locally, but it is quite finicky to diy

if you want to diy a coating, I'd rec you go with cquartz

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch.     • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
