Hey guys, what's the most affordable option to get onto EC for a track day? I had a look on the ARDC site and all I could find were Track days (which start at 12.30pm so it's not even a full day) and they cost $340! Last time I looked the L2S days were about $190, but I can't seem to find them. I'm considering supersprints, but my car isn't rego'd or have a cams logbook. Any other ideas?

Cheers!

I went to http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/400359-eastern-creek-north-track-day-sat-02-june-invite-to-sau/ and had a great time - recommend any day Brett (WalkyHR31) puts on. It was raining and 5 cars ended up bent... I cut up the others in my session - Fed RSRs are great in the wet

Turns out that Eastern Creek still runs the L2S days! Here's the calendar:

7 September - Cars / Bikes / L2S (South Circuit)

21 September – NSWMRC COMPETITORS ONLY (North Circuit)

12 October - Cars / Bikes / L2S (South Circuit)

20 October – Cars - COMPETITORS ONLY (Full Circuit)

7 December - Cars / Bikes / L2S (Full Circuit)

And pricing:

A.R.D.C. Members – $105 (including GST)

Non-members – $135 (including GST)

Garage (optional) – $25 (including GST)

Which is damn cheap. They also accept AASA licences which I wasn't aware of. Hooray

EDIT: Does anyone know what they mean by 'COMPETITORS ONLY"?

Watchin that video, the category they r in doesnt seem very even. Those 2 commos fired past half a dozen cars before turn 1, then continued to pull away. I can believe the guy is allowed to race, hes rubbish.

its the production car category that I race in, there are 5 classes, he is in class A but didn't do qaulifying so had to start at rear of grid (40 cars back). Plenty of cars finished in front of him, mostly 4wd turbos eg emo Xs.

the driving standards of course have been a point of frequent discussions....who needs repair bills.

Repair bills indeed!

Interesting class. with such a slow field, you'd need to carve it up as fast as possible. Cant clearly see the first shunt but the second certainly should have him before the stewards.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
