Melbournites; I've had a look on the train/tram map and I can't see how to get from the airport on a train to South Yarra.

Is it me or is there no train line to the airport?

No really functional public transport from either of the airports, it's either a taxi or the skybus that runs between Tullamarine and various locations. If you unfortunately land at Avalon, you are even worse off.

You've got a memory like a goldfish. I 'ucking told you the other weekend they only have shuttle buses between Tullamarine and the city.

And what's more, there aren't even bus/taxi only lanes into the city. So much for Melbourne being this super awesome place for public transport

lol, well, thanks guys! Knew it wasn't me going crazy haha

A modern city not having a train to the airport - who would've expected that!

You don't have to pay bus drivers as much as train drivers and the training turn around is lesser...

Lol, the only way to get out there is via private toll road. No way the government will step on that.

Skybus to train station.

forgive my retardedness but with the V10 awesome old school V10 videos whats the weird cracking/popping sound when accelerating from low revs? (well F1 low lol) happens on some corners too

im guessing its the microphone not being able to handle the G's? *insert max power thrust*

Aaaaaaah private toll roads being protected by the government, we have that shit going on up here too. The train to the airport up here is private and $$$$$ :(

Red Bull Racing will be forced to alter the engine mapping of its Renault power units from this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix after the FIA moved to close a loophole in the regulations.

although no official statement has been made public, AUTOSPORT understands the new version of the regulation insists teams will be limited in the amount of adjustments it can make to the engine torque map race- by-race.

According to the clarification, teams will be required to nominate one engine map - as a reference - that they used during the first four events of this season, which must then be approved by the governing body.

Once passed by the FIA, the engine torque curves above 6,000rpm must not vary by more than plus or minus two per cent from that reference map.

seems a step too far IMO.

So the teams that didn't have the engine mapping quite right in the first four races, or have since made major changes to the cars exhaust systems and other area's will possibly be screwed over big time by this.

Confused by your statement. Is it sarcasm or has Melbourne actually been unfactually touted as having good/decent/average/below average public transport?

Over the years I've heard various people try to claim that transport in Melbourne is heeeaps better than Sydney, but the lack of an expedient way from the airport to Melb CBD during peak times suggests its all hot air.

Free trips to Albert Park on trams with a valid F1 tick is useful tho

...until race day when they expect you to walk/drive/fly to Sthrn X station to embark. The bastards.

Every other day walk out of hotel to nearest tram stop then jump on.

    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
