Weighting system for driver penalties like they use in Football, build up too many in one season and you miss races, loss of super-license etc.

Driving standards are at an all time low, probably to do with the age of drivers coming through now.

Japanese GP: Grosjean wants to move on from Webber shunt

"Ever since I came back in Singapore my priority has been to be very cautious at the start, and I was watching Sergio [Perez] on my left to make sure there was no contact with him," said Grosjean.
"There was quite a big speed difference between me and Mark [Webber] as I came into the first corner which caught me by surprise and we collided. It was a stupid mistake.
"Mark came to see me after the race and was obviously not happy, but I apologised and we have to move on. We'll sit down and look at things again before the next race to see what we can do to improve these situations."

Lotus will delay the return of its double-DRS

''It is probably because we have to focus on some other developments which have higher priority."

Although the Mercedes-style double-DRS that is activated by ducts being covered by a moveable wing is banned for 2013, the passive Lotus-style system remains legal - so any development work on its current system could have a benefit for next year.

Boullier said the biggest issue the team faced was not the device's legality but whether or not it could get it to operate consistently enough so drivers did not risk losing downforce in high-speed corners.

"It is not being legal or illegal - it is about making it work," he said. "We have not retained it here because we do not believe there is enough of a gain in the race."

Look at how fast they are, nano is barely out of the car and the crane is in position ready to hook up, the dog line is already attached, some guy is sweeping up and there is a fire extinguisher on stand-by.

Compare that to how long it takes to clear a car at Monaco.

The Monaco marshalls are probably the best in the world dude, think about how much harder it would be to safely removed a smashed car around the street circuit.

and the fact he crashed in front of a marshal/clean up crew post..

Good

10 sec stop/go for Grosjean. About time they got tough on him. Should've DISQ though.

how is that tough? a stop-go penalty when you're at the back of the field anyway is slap over the wrist with a limp lettuce leaf. Particualrly since its his 27th crash of the year when others get a 10 place grid penalty for their 2nd prang of the season. WTF???

Webber's right, it is embarrasing at that level.

As there’s been such huge interest in the 2013 nose, its worth noting the regulations for 2014 have been published by the FIA for some time. As part of the safety programme the FIA will introduce much lower noses. The nose tip must be centered around 185mm and the front bulkhead lowered to 500mm. Also front wings will be narrower, top rear wings will be shallower and there’ll be no beam wing.

Here’s a quick representation

Japanese GP: Lotus must 'control' Romain Grosjean says Red Bull boss

Red Bull boss Christian Horner has called on Lotus to get Romain Grosjean 'under control' after his latest opening lap crash.

Grosjean hit the back of Mark Webber at Turn 2 on lap one of the Japanese Grand Prix - and was latter slammed as a "first-lap nutcase" by the Australian.

Webber subsequently stormed down to the Lotus office unit in the Suzuka paddock to confront Grosjean and vent his anger at what he felt was a totally avoidable incident.

Further adding to the criticism of Grosjean, who was banned for the Italian GP for having caused a first lap crash in Belgium, Horner declared it was up to Lotus to intervene and sort its driver out.

"Hopefully he will have a good look in the mirror after this incident – or his team need to get him more under control," explained Horner. "He [Grosjean] is capable of doing it, as he is obviously a quick driver, but so many incidents is unacceptable at this level.

"He needs to really talk to himself, or the team needs to talk to him, because not only is it dangerous for others, but he has cost himself and his team a colossal amount of points - together with the innocent victims that he has collected en route."

Horner said that the biggest concern for Red Bull, and the reason why Webber was so angry, was that Grosjean had not appeared to have learned any lessons from his Monza ban.

"I think Mark has every right to express his feelings, and I think that it was just a complete misjudgement [by Grosjean]," he said.

"The most important thing when you make a mistake is to learn from it, and I think the most disappointing thing is that it is a repeat incident and proved extremely costly for Mark, as it did for [Lewis] Hamilton and [Fernando] Alonso at Spa, and numerous other victims earlier in the year.

"I think the most worrying thing is he doesn't appear to be learning from his mistakes."

I dot mind how the cars look. Sure they are not as great as some past, but you can instantly see the era of car...if they go an dumb the design to look like a GP2 car then I will be disappointed

make a good looking front wing and keep back wing the same but with a flat horizontal top plane so very minimal rear downforce. still give room for sponsors but brings back the need for good mechanical rear grip and brings the drivers with better seat of the pants feel to the top of the field

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
