Your statement is incorrect.

You should have written - Considering the RRP is $168k after LCT and before onroads.

LCT is included in the rrp of $168k, onroads are not.

Whooopsie :P

So that means that the dealers are throwing $21k on the RRP for onroads and stamp duty and selling for $189k?? Thats insane.

I've noticed they depreciate pretty fast, not so good for sellers but good for buyers. I think I saw one go for 100k, it was the first year model but it's still a GT-R.

Just checked there's an 09 going for 107k in QLD in RED and it's only done 20,000kms which is pretty low for any car. Would you guys say this depreciation would slow down alot because for 3 years it's alot of depreciation.

Does not seem excessive, from 160K to 100K is about right, but IMO it will start to slow down now.

This is from redbook - sell prices, forget about the advertised prices: $100,100 - $108,800 for 09' premiums.

My guesses, as good as any  - 100-110K for a 3 year old one, maybe 90-95k for a 4 year old one, 85k for a 5 year old one, until they bottom out around 60-65k for a 10 year old examples. If there is no successor, R36, then I'd expect them to bottom around 75-80K.

there definitely will be an R36, it has mentioned in a round-about way at the various model launches etc

the GTR program is generating alot of interest in the rest of the Nissan lineup and driving a sales boom for the company - just as it was intended

also, development on the current platform has pretty much peaked in terms of oem warrantied power levels on regular pump fuel

im not fussed about the drip feed power increases - aftermarket has proved gains can be had for very little effort

what id like to see is some improvement on interior plastic materials and trim.

slightly stiffer springs on one side to counter my weight????

.....how about some real leather on the dash and door trims

Personally, I think it will be the other way around.

Your looking at a car which has now from 2012, hit the 3 year old mark. Leases will run out and there will be quite a few more on the market. Hence, more to choose from and more competitive prices.

Again, grain of salt - just my thoughts.

I can tell you that interest in the MY12's is higher than ever. I work for a dealer and we are already sold out of supply until May (with somewhere in the region of 10 sold between the Jan and April arrivals).

With some pretty big news on the horizon too... i can only see the MY12's booming in the June/July time.

    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
