Hi all Supersprinters - NSW

Here's some PROVISIONAL ONLY UNTIL APPROVED BY CAMS STATE EXECUTIVE changes attached.

Have your say - good to see time attack cars included - your thoughts on rules?

Type 4 and SV interesting!

Please voice your opinion to CAMs good or bad

Interesting attempt to bring the regs back closer to what their competitors are doing. I still have absolutely no idea why type SV (or now time attack) exist outside the regular 1-4 classes. And they continue to rely on the meaningless rule of "road registered" without requiring "road legal"

Andrew, you will be please to know that Time Attack regs say:

2.6.2 Coil over suspension kits are permitted.

Hammerhead S13s are unfortunately banned.

Hammerhead S13s are unfortunately banned.

but that rule's only in section "3 Open Category Regulations" - Hammerheads are free to run in Clubsprint! lol

The rule's really poorly worded too. Do they mean the width of the coachworh at that point, or at it's widest point?

Its funny that they got so caught up in cut-and-pasting WTAC rules they're just reiterating or contradicting other CAMS General Requirements... roll cages, exhausts, wheels, seats, harnesses etc...

You laugh about the "Coil over suspension kits are permitted" rule, but its not so funny when read in conjunction with this; "All Vehicles:- must only be modified as permitted by these Clubsprint Category Regulations". So this is all you can do to your suspension for instance:

2.6 Suspension

2.6.1 Suspension mount points as provided by the original vehicle manufacturer must be utilized.

2.6.2 Coil over suspension kits are permitted.

2.6.3 Aftermarket suspension arms are permitted

that's it! that's all you are permitted to do to your suspension. No sway bars! No replacement bushes! etc etc... what retard writes this stuff?

Are you allowed to run a front splitter and canards?

They protrude the coachwork don't they... Or do they become apart of the coachwork ;)

If they are permanently fixed then they are part of the 'coachwork', love that antiquated word ;) My ruling for what it is worth.

PS: get a lawyer to go over regs wording before release, for crying out......

In every series I've seen they interpret coachwork as the original (or replacement) body panels. Otherwise there would be no limit on how wide a car could be if anything you add to the coachwork is coachwork. Canards and splitters generally are narrower than the widest point of the car's body.

If 'coachwork' is to be interpreted as 'original coachwork' then that should be made clear because obviously there can be two different opinions if that is not done. Not trying to be a bitch but properly drafted regulations or whatever should be as unambigious as possible to save aggro and misunderstandings down the track. I used to draft stuff in another life, it is an art and not something most people can do well without some training at least.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
