Full comp ain't a guarantee of happy times in this scenario. Many excesses are about the same cost as the repairs and the repairs aren't quite enough to write off the car :/

Watch out with some insurance companies. My wife's car got damaged in the last big storm and had rating 1 full comp. They repaired the car and then dropped her to rating 3 and increased her yearly premium by more than 60%. We changed companies and got rating 1 and ended up saving almost $200 a year compared to previous rating 1 policy anyway. Win for us.

^ wtf? how does that work? an 'act of god or nature' or whatever, and she loses ratings and premium goes up?? how has she suddenly become a riskier driver as isn't that what the rating/premium change is ultimately suggesting (probabilities etc?)

if people are looking for a dent person, Mr Dent (Vince) does fantastic work. Originally recommended to me by Damian @ Final Inspection. If you google it, you'll find his number (no website)

I live in Roxy, literally 5 mins from Cragieburn station. No hail

If ther was hektic hail my old man wouldve skitzed it :O i garaged my skyline instead of his merc for induction pipe making. i shit my pants when i heard hail was coming.

lucky tho :D

dodgy assholes... insurance companies are just greedy f**ks who want to drain people's money. talk about trying to recover their losses. excellent work changing companies :D should have faxed them a note with their letter of increase telling them to shove it up their ass.

45 minutes on hold and answered

covered by full comp

no need to shop around for quotes, they have setup an assessment place which will call me before the end of the week

ill take the car there, they will check it and decide wether to proceed with quotes/pricing or write it off (usually its the other way around)

he said the roof is the main concern if it has lots of deep dints, they have to take the roof off, which becomes an economical write off

so early stages

but very positive outcome from just car insurance

very helpful, quick to help

no blah blah your not covered rubbish

excess is 1k

as for williamstown, there was hail but like pea sized hail. Had some family there during the storms and they were caught out but i had a good look over the cars and didn't see anything, so williamstown would be ok i would think. no big hail

    • https://yariksteel.ru/manual/R33/Skyline_R33_elektroprovodka.pdf   Page 18 should be what you want for the Dash Cluster wiring. Though, you don't need the dash plugged in to get the motor running. What you want is power as how GTSBoy said. You need to power the ECU. Find in the above link the ECU pin outs (Verify them before just connecting them up from things written on the internet). Find anything needing power, give it power, find anything needing ground, give it ground. Then give the starter motor power through a big cable, and bridge the solenoid on the starter straight to power too.  ECU will be on, and when you give the starter power, it'll spin the starter motor, and it should start. I also hope you have a proper stand, and not just the engine sitting on some wood. You will want it bolted down properly.
    • Hello everyone, I am happy to join you.
    • Whereabouts are you, that looks exactly like Akira's old car....
    • Haha, that's so true. Minimal plans quickly turn into a full transformation, especially when you see what others are doing
