Unfortunately due to bad sales in winter my business is having some short term cash-flow issues... Which means my Stagea may have to go.

Which sux as I will surely buy another in a few months time when things are not so tight!

I have had a quick look on the forums and car sales etc, but don't know what a fair price for my car would be.

Realistically I know I will never get back what I have put in. But what would be a fair list price for this:

It has been babied, garaged and serviced every 5,000 with the best oils etc and is in exceptional condition.

sweet stag, im looking in a few months but not yet:( ive been looking and doing research on prices and mods etc and yeah i think around the 17 mark is on the ball. Thats what id be happy to pay when the time comes with one like that, only prob is no sunroof which might turn a few people off. i do like yours better with that interior rather than the leather.

hope sale goes well. maybe ill go to bank and see if i can get cash now

I'm certainly interested also if its around the $17k mark and will have finance in place in a couple of weeks, or worst case end of month.

Have you done any maintenance on the turbo or dump pipe as I’ve read that these are susceptible to failure around the 100k km mark?

But again, certainly keen and will be in contact in a couple of weeks if you decide to go ahead with the sale.

Given the obvious interest in the vehicle, Id say $17k would be undervaluing it. However at such a price it looks like you'd be ensured a fast sale. Hold on to it if you can mate, its obvious you've put a lot of work in to it!

With what little I know of M35s, I'd say $17k would be what you ask, as is, if you needed a quick sale.

Obviously you know your situation better than I, but do the sums carefully. Is liquidating the Stag the most cost effective way to inject some cash into your business? You are no doubt going to end up way out of pocket as you won't get back nearly what you have put into it. Add in the costs of selling and then one day buying another and I'm willing to predict there are much more cost effective ways to source some cash, such as a Line of Credit or Personal Finance or something to that effect. Worst case is you can always sell the Stag later if things do not pick up and you need to cover the LoC.

A personal loan will cost you principal + say 10% if it takes you a year to square it off. That's $1000. Are you going to lose more than that by selling the Stag? I'll predict yes, by a lot.

But, again, you obviously know your situation much, much better than I (as I know nothing about your individual circumstance).

Such a shame Benny; yours is my favourite NM35.

Except for mine.:D

Is there no other alternative? I don't need a new bike, or any sexy bits right now, so I can't help you that way either.:/

Perhaps a merciless internet spam advertising campaign would help; I'm sure it works with Viagra...

Thanks for all the kind words guys!

The Pro S is a tuned ECU as iamhe77 said, no speed limit, higher rev limit, higher boost and timing changes too I believe.

At the moment its not 100% yet that I will have to sell this as I am working on alternative finance avenues, but should push come to shove I wanted to know what would be a fair price for my beloved Stagea.

Aaron, check his sig... mountain bike gear! http://www.ribbed.com.au/

Doh!

Thanks >_<

Myself and a few of my friends are in the market for new bikes. I shall check it out.

Unfortunately a few others have already bought bikes recently - would have been good to direct them to Ribbed as they all spent between $2k and $5k.

    • Sounds like you've got an interesting adventure ahead here with local support if you have trouble! My guess is that, unboosted, you will be OK with a small upgrade like -9. What will happen is that once the stock ECU sees more airflow than it expects it will add a heap of fuel and pull a heap of timing to be safe because it can't understand how it could get that much air without there being an issue. You will see clouds of black smoke and it won't pull hard through the midrange and top end. So, overall it will be a bit frustrating but should be OK. If you are still nervous set the base timing back 2o through the CAS, but it will be even more sluggish everywhere. As said above through...this is not my guarantee your engine won't be blown into a million pieces, leaving you looking for very hard to find parts A better idea is get a computer with logging ASAP, wire in a wide band O2 sensor and a use remote tuner. I've done multiple cars this way and while it is not as good as a specific tune on a dyno they can get it 90% right. I'd suggest if you can afford an R33 GTR these days you can afford an ECU and tune. And if you can't afford that you sure won't be able to afford the rebuild if it goes bad in the meantime,.
    • Yeah it would be nice if someone took the time to put that sort of information together, but there are a lot of variations in looms. I think you are making this way hard for yourself if you just want to get it running....sourcing an SR20 with the right wiring will be a billion times easier than matching the RB loom to an S15 chassis. If you do end up going this way, you just need to trace every wire in the loom with a multimeter, 95% of them will go to a location you can confirm at the ECU.....and then post it up for the next person who needs it
    • Just top it up with water, and keep a general idea of how much you added. It is normal for water to be pushed into and pulled out of the reservoir through the cap, and it should not be more than half full or it will be likely to overflow when hot. Any decent mechanic can do a pressure test of the cooling system to confirm if you have a leak. Keep in mind if it is only leaking a little and when hot it may well evaporate before you see it hit the ground
    • I'd ask the shop what they used and use that. Mixing coolants is sometimes OK, sometimes not, and you have know the details of each coolant to know whether it's a good idea or not.
    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?
