its a bloody industrial area, kids shouldnt be on the road anyway.

some of the speed limits around south road are a joke atm. still 40 when nothings going on. or worst yet. 40 when all of a sudden it bottlenecks into 1 land and theres roadworkers standing on the road pretty much begging to be collected by a B double,.

*sigh* once again the SAU judges, juries and executioners convict the person involved before he has had his case heard in court.

LOL...thats how we roll Kristian! :whistling:

Yeah he was being a tool.... well he has no car for a month and no doubt a hefty fine/ loss of licence coming. No one was hurt (thankfully) so...end of story.

I gotta admit tho that I drove along there at New years with no workers in sight and it was bloody frustrating rolling at 40.

Come on now kristian, we all know that SAU drivers never misbehave!

But seriously who hasn't sped or done something stupid in our life. It's pretty easy to point the finger at someone when they screw up and not look in our own backyard. Big deal-the guy made a mistake-and let's face it has court, impounding,I dare dare loss of license and big$$& to pay- pretty sure he will get a severe penalty that none of us would like. Why would u crush such an valuable/rare/awesome piece of machinery- he paid the money for it so I don't believe anyone has the right to take it away---- that's my two bobs worth..

PISStol Ped, Remember that when the next kid gets killed by someone doing 100 in a 40 zone.

yeah coz i see kids playing in road works all the time. just today i literally saw 5 kids playing cricket on south rd

Open your eyes and look at the signs, or isnt your brain connected to your brain, I cannot believe the mentality of some people, have you never seen kids riding bikes or skateboards in a "industrial area", trucks loading and unloading, or people out for a walk, Im happy when idiots who think they can do what they want get booked.

Or are you to cool and hecktic to obey the law.

Its simple really, unless you yourself are simple.

i drive around wingfield day in day out.

never seen kids playing in the streets or on the side of the road....

A few things - Point notation of things I've noticed and the dash points on my personal conclusions...

A) Nobody knows the full details of what happened - aside from what the media and sapol have publicly released - we both know they're biased

- Meaning we need to stfu before we know (as opposed to what we think we know) what actually happened

B) If he was doing 110 in the area they are speaking of, then the dude deserves to be cockslapped

- No excuse for speeding (And I have speeding tickets (none over 15kph over the limit mind you)

C) People saying that minor speeding (under 20kph) and major speeding (40kph+) are the same thing are on drugs. I've been guilty of the former (and drunk driving too*). I'd never condone breaking the law but the fact is, the law is set up so that average people, without criminal intent, do break the law. All of these 'laws' are misdemeanors/trivial which are never heard in court unless elected. The law is setup in these cases to raise revenue. We all know this. But saying that a dude doing 60 in a 50 zone is the same as a cat doing 180 in a 100 zone, or 110 in a 60 zone, is simply bollocks. One can say in this case it was marked as '40' but that roads always been 60 and doesnt look anything like a freeway ;P

- Put the pipe down. I know crack is more-ish, but put that pipe down.

D) People saying that the car should be crushed... again, not knowing the circumstance one cannot ascertain if the driver was the owner. Also, crushing a perfectly good piece of equipment is wasteful, whether its a car or a dildo. Clean it up and sell if you must. But really, the car didn't cause the crime. The dude behind the wheel is. And he/she should bear the full attention of the law - not the vehicle (Also, crushing proponents, what if the car is under finance and is actually 'owned' by a bank or credit union?)

- People who advocate crushing of cars are oxygen deprived.

E) Everyone hates the roadworks. I do. I hate doing 25. My clutch leg gets sore. But if they dont upgrade the roads, we bitch about the roads being shit.

- People in general cannot see the glass being half full.. Its a necessary evil. Sure, it'd be nice if the govt put the money in to fix stuff before it breaks, but hey... they have bicycle races to promote you know....

-D

*EDIT - Admitting != condoning. By no means am I saying I was hard done by getting caught PCA. I made a mistake - I dealt with the consequences and have no complaints about my treatment in regards to that - in short, if you drink and drive, you're a dickhead - if you drink and drive twice, give yourself an uppercut.

f**k some people are dumb on SAU.

A) Always and inevitably each of us underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.

B) The probability that a given person is stupid is independent of any other characteristic possessed by that person.

C) A person is stupid if they cause damage to another person or group of people without experiencing personal gain, or even worse causing damage to themselves in the process.

D) Non-stupid people always underestimate the harmful potential of stupid people; they constantly forget that at any time anywhere, and in any circumstance, dealing with or associating themselves with stupid individuals invariably constitutes a costly error.

E) A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person there is.

(blatantly stolen from wikipedia)

No kids

Just wokers standing around chatting

and a cop hiding somewhere with his radar going for the kill... he got a big one

"Driving on loose, undulating and incomplete road surfaces can also be especially dangerous in wet weather." ... but he has a 35 GTR

    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
    • When I said "wiring diagram", I meant the car's wiring diagram. You need to understand how and when 12V appears on certain wires/terminals, when 0V is allowed to appear on certain wires/terminals (which is the difference between supply side switching, and earth side switching), for the way that the car is supposed to work without the immobiliser. Then you start looking for those voltages in the appropriate places at the appropriate times (ie, relay terminals, ECU terminals, fuel pump terminals, at different ignition switch positions, and at times such as "immediately after switching to ON" and "say, 5-10s after switching to ON". You will find that you are not getting what you need when and where you need it, and because you understand what you need and when, from working through the wiring diagram, you can then likely work out why you're not getting it. And that will lead you to the mess that has been made of the associated wires around the immobiliser. But seriously, there is no way that we will be able to find or lead you to the fault from here. You will have to do it at the car, because it will be something f**ked up, and there are a near infinite number of ways for it to be f**ked up. The wiring diagram will give you wire colours and pin numbers and so you can do continuity testing and voltage/time probing and start to work out what is right and what is wrong. I can only close my eyes and imagine a rat's nest of wiring under the dash. You can actually see and touch it.
    • So I found this: https://www.efihardware.com/temperature-sensor-voltage-calculator I didn't know what the pullup resistor is. So I thought if I used my table of known values I could estimate it by putting a value into the pullup resistor, and this should line up with the voltages I had measured. Eventually I got this table out of it by using 210ohms as the pullup resistor. 180C 0.232V - Predicted 175C 0.254V - Predicted 170C 0.278V - Predicted 165C 0.305V - Predicted 160C 0.336V - Predicted 155C 0.369V - Predicted 150C 0.407V - Predicted 145C 0.448V - Predicted 140C 0.494V - Predicted 135C 0.545V - Predicted 130C 0.603V - Predicted 125C 0.668V - Predicted 120C 0.740V - Predicted 115C 0.817V - Predicted 110C 0.914V - Predicted 105C 1.023V - Predicted 100C 1.15V 90C 1.42V - Predicted 85C 1.59V 80C 1.74V 75C 1.94V 70C 2.10V 65C 2.33V 60C 2.56V 58C 2.68V 57C 2.70V 56C 2.74V 55C 2.78V 54C 2.80V 50C 2.98V 49C 3.06V 47C 3.18V 45C 3.23V 43C 3.36V 40C 3.51V 37C 3.67V 35C 3.75V 30C 4.00V As before, the formula in HPTuners is here: https://www.hptuners.com/documentation/files/VCM-Scanner/Content/vcm_scanner/defining_a_transform.htm?Highlight=defining a transform Specifically: In my case I used 50C and 150C, given the sensor is supposedly for that. Input 1 = 2.98V Output 1 = 50C Input 2 = 0.407V Output 2 = 150C (0.407-2.98) / (150-50) -2.573/100 = -0.02573 2.98/-0.02573 + 47.045 = 50 So the corresponding formula should be: (Input / -0.02573) + 47.045 = Output.   If someone can confirm my math it'd be great. Supposedly you can pick any two pairs of the data to make this formula.
    • Well this shows me the fuel pump relay is inside the base of the drivers A Pillar, and goes into the main power wire, and it connects to the ignition. The alarm is.... in the base of the drivers A Pillar. The issue is that I'm not getting 12v to the pump at ignition which tells me that relay isn't being triggered. AVS told me the immobiliser should be open until the ignition is active. So once ignition is active, the immobiliser relay should be telling that fuel pump relay to close which completes the circuit. But I'm not getting voltage at the relay in the rear triggered by the ECU, which leaves me back at the same assumption that that relay was never connected into the immobiliser. This is what I'm trying to verify, that my assumption is the most likely scenario and I'll go back to the alarm tech yet again that he needs to fix his work.      Here is the alarms wiring diagram, so my assumption is IM3A, IM3B, or both, aren't connected or improper. But this is all sealed up, with black wiring, and loomed
