I'm with Bob buy them. It is inevitable that coils on a neo will fail.

I am not usually a fan of buying parts just in case but there is almost no downside in buying stock coils for that price. Make sure you buy coils for an R34GT-t / neo RB25DET not the R33 in that Ebay advert.

Alternatively buy a can of crc urethane seal coat and give the coils a good even spray it will keep you going for a good while in most cases.

Definitely get a new fuel pump - Deatschwerks, Denso, Nismo, Bosch 044 and wire it directly for full voltage (with a relay - tutorials on this site) and change your fuel filter. Do you have a high flow panel filter? Whatever air filter you use check to see if it needs replacing.

I reckon I'll do my fuel pump before I get the Nistune. Which one is regarded to be the best?

The Walbro GSS-342 seems popular, but I've read good things about the Nismo and Deatschwerks to!

The walbro's are good (If you get a legit one) but only up to around 20 psi, for boost above that I would recommend either of the other pumps. What are your power goals?

Hmm, sounds like the Walbro would be suitable - I'm not looking to set the world alight...

I got the deatschwerks, hardly breaks the bank at around $215 delivered, and small like the walbro

cheers

my GSS342 is not to noisy, makes a bit of a buzz from time to time, i put rubber inserts in my cradle to stop vibration and noise(R33 Skyline).

i have a few mods planned for the year for my s2 RS4S.

walbro GSS342

nismo injectors

splitfire coilpacks

HPI FMIC

z32 AFM

TD06H-20G (internally gated version with replacable actuator springs - not chasing to much power)

tomei oversize metal headgasket - so i can run 16-18 psi through the neo.

ECU - probably a nistune, wasnt real happy with my powerFC.

i think that should make me a tidy 250awkw without pushing the engine to hard.

Cheers thanks for the info.....Yeah I currently have a flat spot at 5000rpm thinking its the coils tried taping them up as well as a high temp sealant ...with no change....I just don't want to get the car on the dyno and something like that fail and have to get it re tuned later........Change spark plugs recently and re gaped them to

I've got a pod filter and in the proces of making a cold air box for it.....

Thanks again ....

Flat spot is the tune. Cool packs break down. Of you can get new OEM cheap, do it now, has to be done at somepoint and means you aren't risking a tuning session.

Pumps: nismo or bosch

Cat: got a highflow item?

Ebc: yes, gizmo are good value.

Air filter: new highflow is $50, check yours.

O2 sensor? Has it been replaced? Dunno if your tuner will touch closed loop anyway.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
