Hey, have an unopened r33 rb25det with 300rwkw, looking for a bit extra, maybe 320-350, debating whether to do rods & pistons or rb30, or just crank boost for 320ish and see how long it lasts  , it's a road car, whats your thoughts? anyone thats run around 320 on standard motor-how long did it last and what did it get used for? the engine i have is on about 81,000ks and seems mint

how much faster on the road is a 30 than a 25 with the same/similar kw?

cheers!

Need more details, turbo, fuel, boost level, dyno sheet would also help.

Quick answer is yes an rb30 with the same peak power as an rb25 (both done properly) will be a lot faster on the street as the area under the curve will be a lot more.

Crank the boost! You will surprised how long it lasts for with a decent tune, but eventually it will let go :whistling:

In terms of RB30 vs RB25... It really depends on too many factors, some RB25's will be faster, some RB30's will be faster

Add boost until it stops making more power, then a couple more psi so you don't lose power on a hot day, then add some more to account for lower pressure at high altitude in case you drive to the snow next winter.

someone posted a video of an RB30 with a simple bolt on blowing a CBR600 on the street recently

id say RB30 is awesome on the street...... but yeah,

need more info re the current setup as stated. could chuck a WMI setup in and screw heaps more boost into it

Yep get a WMI setup, more boost, and retune :P

I know this might be a crazy idea but look what I found

It seems to answer a lot of your questions all in one simple thread.

Please use the search. More than enough info around.

    • Hello, first of, I’ve looked at many threads on this code but none have helped me, if you know one that will help me feel free to post a link.   Now to my problem. Recently I was driving and noticed the check engine light came on. I went home and did the test to see what code it gave. I got the 21 code but everything seems fine with the car, no misfire, idle is good, acceleration is the same as when I bought it. I mean no signs of obvious failure. If no misfire is happening I can rule out the coil packs right? Which is about 98% of posts saying it is. If anyone has had this happen and found the issues let me know please. No other lights are on.   The car WAS due for an oil change. I since then changed it so idk if that triggers code 21. Either way it hasn’t turned off.
    • Your both right, it may hold a bit longer then.  Soon I need to change the synchros, should I fit the billet plate while I'm at it? Or just a waste of money?
