and why does it need to look good? it seems to work perfectly how it is, lol

I have quiet the interest in modifying JDM vans.

elgrand_fabulous_1.jpg

El Grands in particular.

Some might think it's impractical and 'why-would-you-do-that-to-a-van'...

I quiet like it as a cruiser.

Thanks Callan!

Love the bridge closeup Matt and congrats once again on the Zen Garage opening last Thurs.

If anyone is in the Leichhardt area they should go check it out. http://zengarage.com.au/2012/02/zen-garage-gallery-opening-night/

has any here tried a lightning trigger to capture lightning during storms?

Nope, John, have you found anything? Do they look easy to set up?

I'm kinda keen (and have been searching) for an "intervalometer" which is a remote with a timer built in. With our Canons, we can also run the interval timer off a computer using the Canon software included with the camera, but having to lug even a laptop (and its power supply so it stays on long enough) around everywhere and keep it plugged in would be a PITA.

Oh, and seeing as I haven't contributed in ages, here's a few that I took a few weeks back... These two kids are brother and sister. Both are very cute and very photogenic!

This first shot, I was trying to get a natural candid shot, but little Andre knew a camera was being pointed towards him, so he was watching me from the corner of his eye.

Chicken!!! Om-nom-nom-nom-nom.

By the time the lightning has struck, your camera has realised and clicked I'd be suprised if you even got half the shot in. Unless it was a super bright/long crack.

Best method I think is just to have super fast fire, and shoot when you expect it. I could be wrong, but lightning happens pretty quicky.

Nicks, You need to tidy up the white balance on all the last 3 shots. I'll show you when i come over later on.

Here's a wallpaper shot. Can be found through my sig if you're clever :P (and can be botheredd)

Yeah ive been looking at some recently and while they seem good im just not convinced that they are work it, they rance from about $100 to $350 from what ive found. the ones ive been looking have a hot shoe mount and then plug into where the remote shutter cable goes,

I believe that depending on the model you buy as to how quick it reacts. they seem to vary in sensitivity so you can either set it only to shoot when there is bit flases or set for for smaller ones. but i agree with Mat in thnking the reaction time may not be fast enough to get a decent shot, hence why i thought i would try and find someone thats used one, i dont really want to spend the money on one if its not going to do the job.

But on the other hand if it does work well then it would make the task of captureing lightning a whole lots easier.

I will continue to investigate anyway and see if i can come to a conclusion on these things.

even easier is to just have the camera take a long exposure at the time you think lightening might flash. 80/100 ISO, f22, 5-10 sec etc. only issue with this method is if there is too much lightening, but you can always put your hand or something in front of the lens to 'stop' the exposure. ive seen some epic shots from lightening triggers, there was a vid somewhere, i'll try and find it again

EDIT: i guess this would only work at night tho, lol

Love that opera house shot matt. So clean and simple. Love it :)

Been an extremely busy month and haven't posted anything lately.

Photographed 5 weddings in the past 3 weeks!!!

Just some randoms and teasers from the days:

IMG_9670_resize.jpg

One of the biggest challenges I have found with weddings is turning a boring location into something usable. Basically just weeds and grass growing in this park but still looks nice.

Do you usual tight close up smiley/lovey shots.. but then the bigger landscape shots.. what do you do? Just find an interesting angle that you wouldn't normally think off.

So I got this shot below.. Makes weeds looks sexy lol

Sometimes just taking a simple pic in the middle of the photo can be effective:

Love taking Mehendi shots:

Sometimes you gonna come across videographers who use flood lights. Nothing you can do about it:

IMG_9654_resize.jpg

Biggest example was when I shot a wedding in India: http://sidd-rishi.com.au/blog/2/overseas/highlights-from-my-cousins-wedding/

Tho I do find that sometimes it can help, but just hate the colour cast you get.

If you dont get in there you will miss out on lots of key shots.

Basically the brides side of the family demanding money for his shoes. Gets pretty funny :) Oh and check out the video guy in the back nearly falling over lol.

love this shot Sidd. Its only recently that I've started to appreciate wider angle shots in places where the norm is to get in close.

Such an awesome location! lights made a slightly harsh shadow tho, no diffusion?

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
