If Rick wins Bathurst, I wanna see if He can call VB-sozzled bogans a 'pack of arseholes' with as much vitriol as Jim Richards could.

doubt it. for starters there's his girly little voice. i reckon he'd probably just wet his pants and run off

First up, Not a diehard fan of V8SC, but will watch it because racecar. I don't get all punchy over some driver I watch and long to become. I have no brand allegiance.

The V8SC brand is designed to entertain it's target Audience and it does so very well. Middle income Australians with families. What do people what to watch? Things that they can relate to. So having an Australian built car to base your racer from that resembles the car in the driveway is a smart move by the series promoter.

V8SC is already heavily regulated to what they can and cant do with the car they choose to run. Control tyres, brakes, aero, basic cage design and layout, tank sizing and power. If you think a manufacture has a signifcant advantage over another due to any of the above, you are mistaken. A while back there was an uproar as the falcons (i believe) had a better aero package, to which The Holden brigade were aloud modifications to theirs to render similar results. This is all in an attempt to keep Jim Public interested with closer racing.

The other thing that everyone has forgotten, doesn't care for or has their head up their 10-20y/o import backsides, is that the Falcon as we know it know will be no longer. Ford are going to an international platform that is most likely to be FWD/AWD, with rumours of v6 and turbo 4's. To Keep a Falcon in the running, the rules must change to accomodate this, otherwise it becomes a 1 make series. This in itself looks to be a big factor to how the ruling and plans for COTF has developed, which also means that it opens the doors to other manufacturers.

Just my 2 cents.

What's all this talk of GTR this and GTR that?

The only 4 door sedan that Nissan sell in Australia is the Maxima.

and it's not even RWD....but it's the only one with the right body.

I forced myself to watch V8Extra on saturday to see if any info was forthcoming re the body shape or engine. As expected, they're on a slow-release of info. skaife (who would know), said he knows what the details are, but it will all come out in due course.

The body style is "a car that is not available yet".

That would have been my next guess, a car that is already overseas or to be launched overseas soon and will be launched here in time for the 2013 V8SC series.

Umm, already confirmed it will be a Fuga (or whatever the numnuts at nissan call it when they try to sell it here under the relaunched inifinity brand).

BTW boring race today. And my new favourite team, the Kelly Bros, sucked

/goes to wash mouth out

were you expecting better? i wasn't. unless they really pick up their act, there's going to be a lot of extremely upset nissan fanbois (not refering to the average nissan fan, just the ones who think that nissan is going to dominate like it did 20 years, as if that somehow has an effect on how they will do next year)

I wouldn't be expecting 888 dominance next year.

COTF is going to level the grid. Any single team or driver could shine. There is a dew guys who have driven specific tube chassis touring cars who could be well up the front next year.

Look at the french dude cutting his teeth at the moment. Driven DTM and done very well, could be a real threat.....

Doesn't seem like such a stupid idea giving him a drive when the cars of next year are right up his ally.

    • The title should have posted "EFR7670 exhaust housing selection RB26" I can seem to edit thr title on my Android.
    • I'm looking for some real world experiences/feed back from anyone who has personally ran a EFR7670 with a 1.05 exhaust housing or a .83 I'm leaning towards the .83 because its a street car used mostly for spirited driving in the canyons roads. I"m not looking for big numbers on paper. I want a responsive powerband that will be very linear to 8000 rpm. I dont mind if power remains somewhat flat but dont want power to drop off on top. The turbo I've purchased is a 1.05, although the mounting flange T3 vs T4 and internal vs external waste gates are different on both housings, I not concern about swapping parts or making fabrication mods to get what I want. Based on some of the research I've done with chat gpt, the 1.05 housing seems to be the way to go with slightly more lag and future proofing for more mods but recommends .83 for best response/street car setup. AI doesn't have the same emotions as real people driving a GTR so I think you guys will be able to give me better feed back 😀
    • Surely somebody has one in VIC. Have you asked at any shops?  Is this the yearly inspection or did you get a canary?
    • This is where I share pain with you, @Duncan. The move to change so many cooling system pieces to plastic is a killer! Plastic end tanks and a few plastic hose flanges on my car's fail after so little time.  Curious about the need for a bigger rad, is that just for long sessions in the summer or because the car generally needs more cooling?
    • So, that is it! It is a pretty expensive process with the ATF costing 50-100 per 5 litres, and a mechanic will probably charge plenty because they don't want to do it. Still, considering how dirty my fluid was at 120,000klm I think it would be worth doing more like every 80,000 to keep the trans happy, they are very expensive to replace. The job is not that hard if you have the specialist tools so you can save a bit of money and do it yourself!
