Thats farked. They are cheaper then the street yoko tyres people are running and way, way cheaper then A050s :(

If enough people run them. We will create a. Class to suit.

You can still run them now, but cannot accure points.

FIrst round championship results are up

sorry for the delay but WRX club have still not released the official results but I don;t think any-one from SAU got any penalties so we should be fine.

Guys I'll have an updated CHamp xls with the above changes in it shortly.

seems WRX are playing funny buggers with their championship atm so I'm clarifying it and will update.

right now seems the June round at winton has been cancelled..

Actually john, your carbon bonnet qualifies as a large weight reduction, also putting you in modified class.. and probably should have been in other rounds if you had it on last year. Also it's the cannards as well as you said the rear wing i.e. non-factory aero

June round cancelled?! wtf... bollocks.... was hoping to be my 1st round this year to shakedown the car

OK so as we have found out WRX are cancelling their round in June.

We looked at a number of solutions to this including picking up the date ourselves and running the day, however we don;t feel we have enough time to get it sorted properly and advertised enough to fill.

So what we ahve decided is to Pick another track day on the same day and run with that.

After talking to a few of the regulars it was 100% in favor of running another PI event.

AROCA are doing a day on the 30th and run a very professional event.

So round 3 will now be PI on the 30th, information will be posted when entries are up.

AROCA do sell out fairly fast so I encourage people to get entries in ASAP when entries are open.

Cheers

Martin

updated xls should be up tonight or tomorrow with the updated info in it.

That is up to interpretation.

Canards yes, for sure. Although they do 10 tenths of f**k all.

Bonnet, major weight saving...like I said, that is up to interpretation. Under 1% of the cars total weight.

Easiest thing to do is for you to get back out on the track with a car that does more than 3 laps! lol

Will you be back out there this year? I'll be on AO50's for SAU Nats at this stage.

*chuckle*

Open for interpretation indeed. Either way, it's about time you stepped up to modified RWD class instead of taking easy class/championship wins because you had no real competition in standard RWD hence getting the 10 points every round :D I look forward to it.

My car is actually just being finished this week but I'm not sure when I will take it to the track next, maybe the next Sandown club sprint. Not fussed about championship rounds this year... just want to give it a shakedown and see how it runs. I'm thinking of ditching my long time trusted bridgestone RE55's and switching to AO50's, I know they are a quick tyre. Hankooks are a possibility too.

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow

    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
