So i've got a R33 GTS-T With:

Silicone Cold Air Intake Pipe

Fujitsubo Geiken 3" Stainless Exhaust

Stainless Dump Pipe

Yellow Jackets Coil Packs

BMC Air Filter

My question is;

I want to tune the car with all this + wind stock turbo up to 12 Psi

Can i get a flash tune? or does every skyline have to use a Power FC to be tuned??? Its not just a matter of taking it to a tuner and saying ok go for it??

cheers!

What? If you want someone good go to Status tuning. Don't go to other websites suggested tuners or workshops. I personally have never heard of spring motors(being from Sydney) but I have heard of the names of popular tuners which get used on here often. Status is the first one to come to mind down that way.

+1 to this

The guys there seem to do an amazing job

I'm not going to say that the other tuner suggested by the liberty forums is shit, just its a name I am unfamiliar with when it comes to this forum. The general consensus is: If its on this forum and given the go, its good for your skyline. People don't trust eBay turbos because they are unknown and untested BUT if you read on here about the Kando turbo, which is essentially an eBay turbo, they are given the thumbs up and alot of skyliners are getting into them. You ever mention the name hypergear to anyone who doesn't drive a skyline? They won't have ANY idea what you are talking about. Then come here and find a 200page thread on this turbo and every step its taken to be developed into a pretty awesome turbo for the skyline.

GTI forums, my mate was showing me. Some weird name of some guy who does backyard tuning and my mate was like take your skyline there. I was simply like what the f**k, WHO the f**k IS HE? Some backyard guy working on my skyline? He might know his way around a GTI but I won't let him near my car. Toshi on here is a backyard tuner, probably one of the best tuners you could come across in Sydney. Horses for courses.

or just get PFC from the classifieds..personally i wouldnt bother with either cause you are relying on too many 20 yr old parts.....I'd go see Hypergear with a couple of grand and invest in a cheap boltin hiflow and a brand new adaptronic ECU package then go see Chequered tuning..( the artist formerly known as STATUS )

will yield you less headaches, faster car and value for money all round..

    • That looks good, but I think you're going to need much beefier side skirts now.
    • They are daft and there's a reason it never caught on. Steering feel? We don't need no stinking steering feel!
    • I gotta pull you up on this. It's driving me crazy. A shutter is something that closes, like over a window or in a cmera. The word you want is shudder. That LSD is clearly f**ked. Take it to a diff shop and get it disassembled and examined by an expert. YOu might have plates welded together or something equally crazy.
    • Define "starting to fail". Wy not just rebuild them?
    • Check the Nistune doco. There are a few assumptions being made here that might not be valid. I will list the things that occur to me: Base map. Base map for what? Base map for Z32? Then the cranking pulse width is probably wrong for an RB25. The extra 500cc of capacity might well be enough to prevent it from catching. Base map for RB25? I don't think you can load one of those into a Z32. You have to just make the settings correct for an RB25 in the Z32 base map. That is either K or the TIM to get the pulsewidth right. Loom. You bought a loom for an RB. And you plugged it into a Z32 ECU. Did you make sure that any iwre differences were swapped. From memory, there's at least a couple. And as per the others, I would suggest making sure that the fuel pressure is correct while cranking and that the injectors are actually flowing as expected. They really must come out and go on the bench, unless you do find that you have messed up as per above points. I would also suggest watching in Nistune to make sure that everything is reading correctly. That the correct binary flags are raised at the right time (like the crank signal), that there's no stupid values in K or TIM. That you have not got mismatched firmware for the ECU and/or a wrong image loaded.
