Hello S.au members ... shooootoooooO !!! >=D

having issues with my rb26 ... started off just lacking decent power .. then stalled once or twice ...

when cold starting it runs... then when it reaches operating temperature it doesnt like to rev past 2,300 or so .. and misses and splutters and eventually stalls when warm

i diagnosed the problem as an electrical issue and related it to 1 AFM ( hope i am right ) car stalls once it gets hot ... disconnected each AFM one by 1 and car runs when i disconnect front turbo AFM harness ( which leads me to believe its that AFM )

connect that harness and car stalls or doesnt run hot etc .. ( should happen to both AFMs but only works with 1 of the two AFMs )

ISSUE NOW IS FINDING THE RIGHT AIR FLOW METER !!

My one is a 4 pin red sticker AFM ... i have a 5 pin AFM that fits ( suspect its from another gtr or gts-t perhaps? )

WHERE CAN I BUY A ** 4 PIN TYPE R32 GTR AFM ** southside brisbane !! ( dont think the 5 pin type works technically.. even though its currently running on the car =/ )

Thanks yo!!

Gtst does not use the same afm as gtr . The differences between these afms is probably due to which one of the Rb26 it comes off of ie...r32/33/34.

I would suggest you get the same as you have now because according to Apexi pfc there is different airflow curves between R32 and R33 even though they carry the same pn.

You could also try re soldering them as it s known to be a common problem with age.

If you have an aftermarket ECU? If yes best option really is to simply buy two new Nismo ones.

Not the cheapest solution, but you get brand new ones that will last another 10-15 years.

Buying another 2nd hand one, could fail. Even your current good one might fail in 2-3 months and start playing up.

By the time you buy 2x 2nd hand ones generally you'd spent almost half what it'll cost to get Nismo ones anyway - and you've got a future upgrade plan if you want.

IF you don't then maybe buy some reconditioned stock ones from ebay or similar

Nismo pairs are like 700 800 bucks !???! =o

oh nugga thats a nistune and og dyno time tuning !!

im a cheap ass with stock ecu =[

NEED TO FIND STOCK 4 PIN AIR FLOW METER FOR R32 GTR >_< BRISBANE YOU SHITWHOLE!! f**kN BRISBANE PIGGYS AND STREETS SUCK ASS FOR RACIN !! Premium is 175 per litre here -_-

Anyone that knows where to source one would be appreciated !

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
