RCHOO
With DECA in Shepparton coming up on the 5th of May i was wondering on who was heading up And if you have always thought about it and never made it this is a great entry level motorsport event. It also a great way to meet up with others may you only know off the forums. You dont need to be a SAUvic member or own a 300 kw car. So if you want to have a bit of fun in you car DO IT. Ya know ya want to..IMPORT MONSTER- SAUvic DECA We stay here .......ACCOMMODATION Volonteers..........OFFICIALS WayneO Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/397062-deca/ Share on other sites

RCHOO
Half keen, just wanna know prices to participate and how big the track is etc? Do i need a CAMS license? Chris Most of the information you need is in the above IMPORT MONSTER DECA link But to give you a bit of info Cost of entry 85 bucks You will need one of 2 licences. AASA licence will cost you 50 bucks and you dont need to be a car club member CAMS licence will set ya back 95 but you will need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated car club. The DECA complex in Sheppardon is a is a driver training complex so it not a race track like Sandown and such. It has a very large skidpan and roads inside the complex. We do motorkhana style events on the skidpad and speed runs on the roads and its all timed like Tarmac Rally. Its heaps of run. And since its in Shep and its a long drive to and from a lot of people make the call to stay on the Fri/Sat night to kick back and have a beer or 4 or 5 and talk about the day and cars and such. We also have some of the SAUnsw come down. So in general its just a great weekend. Hope this helped and hope to see you up there. Wayne. N1GTR
Easily the most enjoyable car weekend away. A couple of us come to the ones that don't clash with NSW events any chance we get. The guys and girls who run it are fkn legends, don't be afraid to ask anything if you're not sure or if it's your first time. It's great also in that the stress on the car is minimal (one lap at a time) so that's nothing to worry about, the speeds you do are not silly, you don't need big power to be quick at this-so many times we see the guys with commonly considered "slow" NA cars do heaps better than built GTR's. It's only $85. Give it a go. Anyone who's been before will agree its great fun and you'll also regret not going to previous ones because they're just addictive. Keep up the great work organizers and volunteers. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/397062-deca/#findComment-6307034 Share on other sites
