So it was YOU who shot Rae for this - you lucky, lucky man! She is gorgeous! I've seen her at a few game release events, and she's hard to keep your eyes off..

nice one matt, was that two streetlights or strobes? strobe from the front? give us some strobist info! :P

and damn sidd, awesome work! love that last shot too, the rim lighting gives it so much kick!

i also like the one above it. did you get that effect from lighting or in PP?

Lighting. Its pretty much straight out of the camera. I hardly do PP work.

That photo was taken at 2.30am lol. Was a very very very very long wedding day. Thanks man :)

Thats a bummer :(

Just looking thru my modelmayhem inbox and I was actually trying to hit up a shoot with Rae few months ago, but she got busy with TV shows or something. Great model.. Keen to see more :)

Also did you forget to clone out the gird box in the first pic?

Haha Nick - I can understand why, she is very pretty. Very fun too. She was awesome to work with.

Sidd - she is constantly on the move with her line of work, which is pretty awesome for her.

The strip light is definitely supposed to be in the photo. Without the light, it has a completely different feel to the photo. I wanted the 'shes crazy ass killer so put her in some special high tech FBI jail' look

any chance you could give a quick run down of lights used and the angles/power settings?

The goal was to use only 1 strip soft box - which also fired on capture... so it was strobe and constant.

In the first and the last photo, the light is directly above her. Slightly behind her as well.

The second photo is to her left of course, bottom of the strip was around her waste almost looking down (Center of the box is the most bright). Also had a white board on her right side for that touch of bounce.

F9 at low power settings and all shots were taken at 1/125 iso100.

Dont think i will ever afford the real deal but definitely will be looking for the body kit one day.

The fog one - it's awesome mate.

You will need to hit up matt and sidd to help out with their model shoots. Sydney is quite a distance away haha.

Rae has gotten back to me with a few more photos she wanted...

11-3.jpg

I really liked the colour on her face. I felt she was looking up at something which words couldn't describe. So I wanted to show that more... The above image, cropped:

11-6.jpg

And finally... something a little more feminine

11-4.jpg

All the photos we decided on + the blog article can be found on my website:

    • Well, this is probably where a wiring diagram and a multimeter come into play.
    • I can say to anyone thats doing this; having done a number of R clusters; just be careful if its an unknown cluster.  It takes a bit of force to pull up; but if it feels excessive then its probably stuck. I've had this and pulled the entire hair spring out; and I can tell you; its not easy getting the correct spring replacement with the correct inner diameter and winding. In my case someone had used some sort of adhesive to stick it to the spindle and it pulled the whole spindle out; which the force seperated the hairspring from the spindal and caused it to deform.  You may have to clean it (IPA); or in my case if i'd known i should have used some sort of solvent on it.  Also check out Cruizin Central on eBay. He does all sorts of dials; and you can email him with any custom designs you want. So if you want like certain logos etc...he'll send you a mock of what it will look like then you accept the order and he'll take care of the rest. Fantastic dials and he can do basically any design you want.
    • Have you confirmed its the actual axles? Also the wheel bearings that mount on the hubs to hold the axles wear out. I replaced mine as they got play in them. It sorted my play issue.
    • Ive converted a few clusters for the R33 with 320km/h dials. On the back there are some pads which can be bridged or unbridged (using solder or wick braid) to calibrate it. There is one bridge which is for MPH <> KPH; and there are combinations of bridges to offset it. There is probably a diagram  For example; this is my conversion for a 180km/h dial to a 320km/h dial (I put custom GT-R dials on it with the GTS25t layout) If you have J2 soldered (assuming the S clusters have a similar config to the R clusters); you may need to remove that solder
    • Back on topic 😉, these are some of the notable pages from the booklets that are supplied with each weekly parts update. I never knew the BNR32 test mule car had an S13 Silvia front end... *Edit: On closer inspection the test car still had the R32 body, but only the front end had Silvia panels etc.
