meh, I think the old full track was better. The blind entry to reasonably fast turn 8 was a real highlight of the track. Now its replaced with a mickey mouse section of slow esses and even slower hairpins...

will be a real PITA trying to find a track day using the best layout.

Definitely with you on this; one of my favourite bits of the track gone.

Coming over the top, cranked hard over on the knee slider, on the gas was the highlight of most track days...

Agreed.

I thought the same originally when the designs were released. Just does not suit the rest of the track.

How green is the new bit! He noticably backs off and it's still moving about a bit.

But the good bit about it is now there appears to be some slow to mid sections where you have to stop cars with some attitude on them and changes of direction. I think it works. BUT, agree, Corporate Hill was the best corner on the track where you would hammer through in a slide using all the exit...never quite made that sand trap though came close a few times. Shame they took away the kink in the braking area before the new section as well as that was another quite technical part of the track ...woudl have been great if they extended the track without messing with corporate hill...but oh well

I wondered why they took that kink around the back of corporate hill out, but I think that if it was still in place there would be a lack of decent passing opportunities on the new South circuit. I guess now all the power cars will scream up the hill, down the inside of the lesser powered cars into the reshaped turn, then hold everyone up through the twisty bit. We'll see...

the kink was removed to make entry into the new section easier/safer, that kink was put in cause the track was originally designed for bikes but now it throws you wide so now its more flowing

I didn't think they where removing turn 8 and if you hire the whole or south track you can still use i use it, but I'm with Fatz, 8 is better then 1

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
