JamesK
Hey guys, my baby needs some new wheels and tires so I decided its a good time to change them both in one go (since I most likely need different tires when I change) but I'm a little bit lost with the whole offset of things I want them to sit, at the most, flush with the car and not sticking out stance type deal. They have a bit of dish to them although I'm a little embarrassed to name the actual wheel with the cause I'll probably get a bit of crap from it, but on my budget I wasn't left with much of a choice. Currently I'm looking at 18x8.5+35 18x9.5+32 Will this look nice or absolute dog balls? Would it also be better to get the same offset? (This is just what the shop has in supply) I'm not afraid to roll the guards if required Thanks in advanced, James Edited July 4, 2012 by JamesK Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/403985-help-with-offset-noob-alert/ Share on other sites
Birds
You will need a guard roll if your car is lowered and you plan on running a 235+ tyre on the back. I have 9+32 on the rear and they needed a roll for hitting the twisties/DECA. If you're stretching the tyres (225 or less), you might get away without one. I have the same size/offset all round, so I recommend going at least 9+32 on the front as my fronts sit well with the guards - just needed a roll. 8.5+35 will be sunken looking. JamesK
Should I just go 9.5+32 all around? PS Text me, I lost your number, we need to organize meets like the good old days Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/403985-help-with-offset-noob-alert/#findComment-6428807 Share on other sites
Birds
Nah stagger it, If I could put a 9.5 on the rear I would, but there are none available in my wheel type so I stuck with 9 all round. The rears are slightly sunken. I think you'll be happy with 9 on the front, 9.5 on the rear and approximately the same offset all round. Won't be stanced but it'll look good lowered and you won't have to flare guards, just roll. I don't have your number so PM me. JamesK
Well I was thinking about getting front 9's and rear 10's. Does 10's fit well on 33 GTST's? JamesK
What are people's opinion is the better choice 18x9+32 all around or 18x9+32 front 18x10+40 rear Will the rears even fit? JadGTST33
I'd stick with a little bit of stagger, so I'd suggest 9's & 10's. I had 18 x 10 on my old 33 GTST, but dont remember what offset they were, but then it wasn't mega low either.
