Has Anyone Used Any Of Just Car Insurance's Recommended List Of Panel Beaters?

Recommended Posts

Not sure if it's with JC, but Woods (AAMI recommended, so therefore most likely JC) are shocking!

Botched my car, parentals and two mates! Parents even got their car back from there with a wrong rim fitted. Wasn't even the same style.

Hadouken - that's right but I've heard they under quote so they get the job over a repairer we may choose, I don't have any in mind...

Gtsttrk - sorry to hear, thanks I'll remember the name. They usually have a life time guarantee on their work don't they? Have any of you gone back to them?

When the motorbike hit my old evo, the damage wasn't bad but the colour match was a pain so the whole side needed to be painted (ended up being the whole car lol)

however I knew one of the recommended shops so the quote was 'realistic' compared to the normal under quoted insurance quotes.

However I didn't use the repairer though I still used mine

Classic panels lol

Took my car for a thrashing. Car was given back to me with a brand new blown turbo A nice slipping auto trans and turned my steering wheel into a vibrator every time I turned. It was great I got all of this when I only needed a new rear window!!

The service was great he definitely knew how to deny things even after giving him photo evidence in the difference in Kms.. Which means he definitely knew his stuff!

I definitely reccomend them if you like it when someone upgrades your car with the above. Really happy!

how was it resolved?

I've been to Imperial Finish Body Works in Springvale a few times with Just Car claims. I'm hoping I can take my skyline back to them for this rear end damage from last week.

Murray also did my bonnet respray and has done some other touch up work on other cars for me.

I've always been happy with his work and his service. He's the kind of guy that wants you to keep coming back to him.

$400.oo, and that included the front quarters for blending and front bar too.

Fark me...he did the front end for $400? I'm going lol.

I'm sure that's right. I've misplaced the receipt because I want to know if I can claim it on tax.

If some of you usual suspects can't keep from trashing workshops and mixing it "into" a nice post - regardless of what your story is - you are going to start getting warnings.

Forum rules are explicitly clear about the issue, and for good reason.

Thanks.

lol hence why I said I thought it was great!

Eurostyle Bodymaster in West Melbourne

Sheens Panel on City road, South Melbourne

These were the two shops I went to get a quote from. They are both JustCars recommended repairers. In the end Sheens got the job as their price was 2k cheaper than Eurostyle.

Quite happy with Sheens' work and they were happy to fix up some minor issues.

Haven't used Eurostyle but their workshop is modern and they do mainly luxury European cars.

Yeh my dad used one of the reccomended for the V35, guy hit him from a slip lane and Just car sent the car to Abbotsford Body Repairs (http://www.abbotsfordbodyrepairs.com.au) bit far from us, but we were glad that they sent the car there. Paint was matched perfectly (Factory candy blue pearl) and you cannot even tell that they had repaired the bumper and guard. These guys had a few porsche GT racing cars in there for repairs and an Audi R8, so I think they know what they are doing. They even sent the rim off for balancing and had it repaired, the scratch on it wasnt even noticeable.

I'd agree that most insurance companies under quote.

Yeah the issues were resolved, after a lot of mucking around. However they were all less than impressed.

XL bodyworks (possibly not the name, I'll have to double check) however were fantastic. And they were a recommended repairer.

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
