G’day,

The names Damo, long time lurker, first time SAU Build Threader.

I Bought this in Queensland around 18 months ago while I lived there for a bit. Was a cheap buy, and had a RB25, hybrid cooler, walbro and a pod in it.

The car was pretty shagged out, soon after buying I did the following:-

  • Replaced shagged shocks with Tein Super Drifts and whiteline sway bars,
  • Had a Vipec Fitted and retuned to 190rwkw
  • Had a Autowatch immobilizer fitted

whilst in brisbane i enjoyed the best of the car scene over there, neebo runs and the like which was allgood fun, but then i moved to gladstone. Basically the car sat there in gladstone for 9 months as it was so farking hot i had to buy a new daily with Aircon, long story short I moved back to Perth and had to bring this with me, and I ended up selling my daily FG XR8 and driving this every day, then I got bored and have currently executed the following:-

Fitted my CE28’s off my old WRX STI - now have the tri spokes clad in some RE55 goodness for days at barbagello

New front bar with N1 lip as it was shagged – N1 side skirts and trust rear pods being fitted at the moment.

ATR43 .63 Hyper Gear Turbo

850cc injectors

Had the VCT hooked back up

3” TBE

Fitted some new seats, nardi and gear knob

260kmh nismo speedo

100k service, timing belt, tensioners, bearings etc.

And this is it at the moment

I also adjustable front / rear camber and castor arms, pineapple bushes etc and an oil cooler waiting for me to fit when i get back to perth in 2 weeks. (will also get some WA Plates :) )

i am chasing a R32 GTR Bonnet and latch - and i am also eying off a Kaaz 2 way LSD for sale at the moment :)

now quick question, ASG advised me its now at its limit for the turbo. Would it be worthwhile fitting cams to gain more midrange and a few more top end rwkw or due to the turbo they wouldnt have much more effect?

basically the car is for days at barbagello, collie and skid pans when i can get to them.

Cheers - Damo

    • Hi guys my TPS voltage is reading over 2v at idle.  My Haltech ECU is reading around 40% throttle position at idle also which is really strange. Note the actual throttle position sensor is brand new…    anyone have any experience with this or know how to calibrate it on Haltech ?
    • The OEM disk will not work on any AEM ECU, you need to use the one they made. You shouldn't have to flip the CAS or whatever you were describing, if you set the ignition sync offset correctly it can't backfire. Make sure you're using a spark plug lead on coil 1 instead of the timing loop to avoid weird issues with the timing light. Double check that your timing settings are actually correct, like is the 24 tooth configured correct or should it actually be 12 teeth for 1 crank revolution? I also found this: 305817248-AEM-Undocumented-Settings-v1-2.pdf
    • Yeah, I don't believe the M35 uses a deadhead system.
    • Have you done your thinking backwards? 3 bar, 43.5 psi pressure drop being the presumed specification for an injector, means you need 3 bar upstream when they are firing into atmospheric pressure, and more upstream pressure than that when on boost (you add your boost to your rail pressure to maintain 3 bar across the injector) and you need..... less pressure upstream when you have vacuum in the manifold. So, presuming that you're idling at -10 psi, then you only need ~23 psi in the rail. I realise that I did not need to say all of that to you specifically Matt, once you'd realised your mistake. It's mostly there for complete clarity for others.
    • Have you reached out to the guys at Spool Imports? They are a Ross dealer, I can imagine they would have the rings just sitting on the shelf (I could be wrong).
