hey guys looking for a catback either 3 or 3.5" for my 33. been reading through some search results and besides db rating and "personal oponions" cant seem to find any specs on cfm/flow rating or systems that are true 3".

looking at reinhard 001, blitz nur, trust pe2, hks silent high power and apexi n1.

any/all info on these or back to back testing/ comparisons would be great.

cheers patrick

If you've got a stock turbo, anything that is true 3" will be fine.

They will all flow near enough to the same for the sake of the discussion as 3" piping and straight through mufflers are only ever going to flow a certain amount when not under pressure, so no-one will have tested it and I've never see any such results anywhere.

Where the dB factor comes in is how well the mufflers are made and associated with that is weight in most cases.

much wiser to spend the money on the turbo rather than fancy brand name exhausts,

my system is a 3 1/2inch jap system from the wreckers , cost $180 i changed the fujitsubo muffler for a 3inch Xforce oval muffler,

320kw flow with acceptable noise levels and minimal $$$ spent on exhaust = wise choice

haha yeah my $100 rusty special 3.5" exhaust was fine for 365rwkw, changed to a more expensive 3.5" - no change... Although the headache would've been eliminated as the drone was waaaay excessive with the el-cheapo single muffler (if you could call it that) setup. :)

Silent 3" system flowed 360kw on my car... Was a little laggier than I hoped but was an awesome result for what it is... It's an Apexi I think, the one with the ironic "Super Megaphone" on it :)

Whilst I currently have an Evo, not a Line, I can share my experience as principle is the same.

Went from a True 3'inch custom made cat back (loud and droney) to a 3 inch Fujitsubo RMO1A which tapers to 2.5 inch inside the 2 resonators.

Notice sweet F$%k all in terms of power difference. All i felt was a bees dick more lag, and about 99% less headaches with the RMO1A :-)

Also have had a HKS Hi Power and 5Zigen pro racer on the Evo and exactly the same. Not much difference between all of them...

Better off getting a decent tune.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
