Hi Skliner's,

Every R33 owner I have spoken to about their car always seem to have a deep feeling of 'affection' for their car,....more so, I believe, than many other owners of 'other' types of cars. Being in the lucky position of owning a beautiful white 95 GTST, I Know first hand why we feel this way.

On the other side of this, is there anyone who feels that the R33 has any design faults, things you don't like, stuff you'd get changed in a heart-beat, things that 'pi5s you off'. Not just mechanicals (if any), but interior, exterior, quality of systems, ride quality (before and after you modded it) etc.

I would like any comments on what YOU FEEL about YOUR R33.

I don't know too much about the fantastic R32, because I don't own one..but pls feel free to comment aswell,.....if you like!!

- The stock tyre size was a joke.

- ABS should've been standard

- The boot is too small for such a long car

- Active LSD standard or a cheaper option wouldve been nice. Would see more around.

That being said there is so much to like about the R33. The car is well engineered from front to back from the huge stock calipers to the still-sexy-ten-years-later styling.

:headbang:

er no.. maybe only costs too much :D and mods cost too much :)

as it comes out of the factory it could do with a few things (bigger turbo, bigger wheels, bigger intercooler, better suspension, better exhaust) but afterall, it is just a run of the mill factory production car. Nothing really comes out that great from the factory.

Interior is a bit bland i guess to start with.. bit of paint and rice fixes that

When I get in my car, first thing I do is put both windows down. To put the driver side window down, all you need to do is press the automatic-down button. For the passenger side window, you need to hold the button for ten or so seconds. Both windows should be the same.

Corner extremities of the car are hard to see - so makes parking a much slower and care oriented activity - with still the rick of a touch as you can't see where the car ends.

All very good points, passenger window switch bugs me too!!

And I'm sure we'll all agree that even after 10 plus years, she's still a hornbag looker of a car !!!

WHAT ELSE ?..........KEEP GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, the passenger window switch is a bastard - although im sure you could find another drivers side switch and put it in the passengers window for the same effect!

As for the 32:

- The fuse box is an absolute prick to change fuses, and the ones in the engine bay are a bitch to pull out.

- The tyres could have been a bit wider :):)

- Corner extremities of the car are hard to see - so makes parking a much slower and care oriented activity - with still the rick of a touch as you can't see where the car ends. - I just lowered my car so low that i can see every other cars bonnet over my boot hahaha :-) Problem solvered!

- The boot is too small even for my gold clubs

- Stock tyre size, well everyone changes that so irrelevant

- I got LSD so happy about that

- Series 2 interior and ext is alot better IMHO...but could do with a decent head unit, but hey everyone replaces that too...

- I have no real bothers other than the occassional bit of rust the creeps in places that is shouldn't...they are a well manufactured car and will test the times far better, with more power and with greater style than ANY Australian built car especially in those days...

the autolock thingo shits my passengers where you go above 20km/hr - but that is their problem not mine.. therefore i care little :(

chef_32.. what you don't use the passenger override thingo.. that is fun sometimes :D

I think the trim they have used on the seats is butt ugly. And the cup holder sucks, it's only capable of holding one of those crazy little japanese cans.

I'll second that - have tried only once to keep one of those thermal coffee holders (the silver variety) in there - almost resulted in a caffeine drink for the seats and the carpet

:(

    • I've never played with one, but I would expect that you are correct. That slot looks like it is intended to be used to unscrew the end, and the flats on the body would be better than grabbing it around the round bit with a pipe wrench. So, yeah, probably unscrews. You'll probably have to make a tool to drive in that slot.
    • A bit late but A disk S13P fit over stock R32 GTR brakes, usually A disk front, O disk rear works.
    • Or, the height of the release bearing is not correct for your combo. Start with the bleeding and checking the slave moves throughout its range when you press the pedal (2 person required), but it is possible for the height to be internally wrong too (box back off to measure.
    • Yes, there's quite a few things that can go wrong during a clutch install. Very unlikely. I have a similar clutch. They (ACS) make good gear. No, it is not normal. It is possible that you just need to bleed the clutch slave. But the new clutch will also have a more aggressive actuation force/pressure, and so your old slave cylinder might be a bit leaky or otherwise compromised, and not up to the extra force required. Or the master cylinder, same.
    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
