Im with Wolverine. Like Button Kimi is the other WDC guy you can throw in a car and not upset a slightly more prexious driver. Just like Kimi would be good at RBR with Seb I think it will work at Ferrari. I think you will see just how amazingly on it Alonso always is....he rarely mises a trick

I am gutted for Lotus. Hulk may be a good signing for them but he wont bring the sponsors, coverage and talk of the team which seems to critical to it at the moment for funding and potential for increased Renault dollars and solid future campaigns :( I hope my buy Romain keeps his seat and they dont sign Julk then go for a funded 2nd driver :(

GUTTED!!!!

Lotus said earlier that if Kimi leaves that would help Grosjean keep his seat for 2014 as it would give them some continuity.

I hope Hulk does not sign for Lotus. He'd be better off waiting for a better seat. It will only take a year for two or three top seats to open up I reckon. Keep over-performing in the Sauber for one more year. Don't sign to the team that's only fast in one particular set of conditions and barely has money to pay their drivers.

Eddie is predicting there will be a fernando to mclaren move in 2015

Wonder what this is based on? Honda being at Mclaren in 2015?

At the moment don't really see a reason why he would want to leave Ferrari UNLESS Kimi starts dominating there

Given the problems he previously had there and how happy he seems at Ferrari, its a bit strange to me

That describes Sauber.

ok - no point signing to the other team that's only fast in one set of circumstances and can't pay their drivers.

still better off waiting for those top two or three seats to open up imo than locking into Lotus.

Problem being if you wait you get overlooked. There will presumably be an opening at McLaren when they get sick of Perez being hopeless but I reckon Hulk should be worried about Sauber dumping his arse for a pay driver. Happened to him at Williams and I reckon it could happen again. He would have been alot better off staying with Force India.

But for now he should sign for Lotus. It will be quicker than next years Sauber and he will only have Grojean to beat.

Lotus is beating Sauber easily this year, a step forward is still a step forward. It's not like he's going to sign a 10 year contract with Lotus. A 1 or 2 year deal would be fine if he wanted to move to one of the more established teams later on

The thing is, most drivers only get one shot at a drive for a major team. Don't blow it on the wrong seat. Lotus is the wrong seat.

Kimi/Alonso is bound to blow up in their faces with one bloke leaving or being dumped.

Perez is unlikely to be re-signed by McLaren imo. Button's getting a bit long in the tooth as well.

RB young driver program is normally very quick to dump drivers if they don't instantly live up to expectations too. Although we are in uncharted teritory as to how long they give a young gun in the main team.

Plenty of good seats could be coming up in 2015. And by then the drivers will have an idea of the pecking order of the new cars & drivetrains.

and then get forgotten about like Perez at McLaren. No other top team will be looking at him. Nup, you've got to make your move to a top team count. Don't waste it on Lotus.

You have to beat your team mate. Perez is forgotten because Button is quicker than him. And Button is past his best so it doesnt reflect well on Perez.

You are also assuming Sauber have the funds to develop a decent car next year. Which is a courageous assumption. If he stays with Sauber and the car is a dog then what hope will he have?

Hulk would get beat by Romain...but I am biased :) I think Monza was the first time I have not seen Hulk throw the car away or do something stooooppid when in a good spot. Not saying romain is anyworse, but he has had loads of races where he has shown amazing wheel to wheel race craft...sadly its often punctauted by poor clashes that detract from his good races. Was it Korea of India last year where he had some amazing battles with Shcuey and others?

Fernando Alonso pocketed in the region of $30million last year, making him the highest paid driver in motorsport in the latest Forbes rich list.

The Spaniard's current deal with the Italian team runs until the end of the 2016 season, but it remains to be seen if his new team-mate Kimi Raikkonen, who will rejoin from 2015, will make the list next year as he is rumoured to have signed a $20m per annum deal.

Full list:
1. Fernando Alonso F1 - $30m (salary/winnnings $28m; endorsements $2m)
2. Lewis Hamilton, F1 - $27.5m (salary/winnnings $26m; endorsements $1.5m)
3. Dale Earnhardt Jr, NASCAR - $26m (salary/winnnings $13m; endorsements $13m)
4. Jimmie Johnson, NASCAR - $24m (salary/winnnings $17.3m; endorsements $6.7m)
5. Valentino Rossi, MotoGP - $22m (salary/winnnings $12m; endorsements $10m)
6. Tony Stewart, NASCAR - $18.5m (salary/winnnings $12.5m; endorsements $6m)
7. Jeff Gordon, NASCAR - $18.2m (salary/winnnings $12.7m; endorsements $5.5m)
8. Sebastian Vettel, F1 - $18m (salary/winnnings $17m; endorsements $1m)
9. Danica Patrick, NASCAR - $15m (salary/winnnings $6m; endorsements $9m)
10. Jenson Button, F1 - $14m (salary/winnnings $14m)

    • I mean, I can confirm the TPS is at 100%.... I can confirm when we installed the TB and setup the cable that the TB was indeed fully open at max pedal travel.. the same 'curve' (WRT MAP vs MAP) existed with the previous setup/TB/manifold as well... No, we did not do a run with no intake connected. I would love to go back in time to do such a run to rule out the intake. It would have also been good to do a run with the airbox lid off. There's a test there where increased IAT vs more available air could be a positive tradeoff. I remember taking the lid off my R34 Turbo setup back in the day and noticing a monster increase, even if IAT's did go up. Could be similar. Hard to test unless I find a very deserted road.
    • That's actually encouraging to be honest. my motor was rebuild many years ago but it's probably done less than 30,000kms and fucc all limiter or drift, majority street / drag / roll racing. It'll be fine 💪🏼 I don't even have lines or a can for the cam breathers installed yet, there is zero oil residue or splatter on or around them, it drives beautifully so it seems healthy. Just a ticky lifter, yet they're almost brand new oem genuine Nissan and haven't done many kms at all...
    • Have you confirmed the throttle body goes to WOT (and stays there) during the run?
    • I'm having a problem. I think it was mentioned above somewhere but can't see it.  I'm stuck in the cycle of, sand, filler, low spot again, put filler, sand, low spot again, now i put filler again and a thicker portion which seems to have helped but I got low spots in other areas. In the image. Circled in red thats where the original low spot was and the shape is the same as the red out line. I've more or less fixed that (still low spot up the top but now I have low spots where the green circled part is.  Is likely the issue that I didn't start with a course sand paper? I sanded the filler with 240 to reduce the risk of not going to far but maybe the issue is that I'm only taking off enough material to remove some of the filler but not the high spots. I now started sanding with 120 and I think I'm seeing a difference. I did fix one dent the other 2 are f**ked and seems like I made another low spot which is indicated by the furthest green circle on the left handside. Any thoughts and solutions?   Also second image. All of these rock chips, can they be filled in with primer or do i need to fill them all with filler/putty? So many rock chips on mine lol.
    • Well, I had an Edward Lee's special edition odo windback car/motor with a RB25DET S2 and I put down 372kW with a good amount of track abuse for 1.5 years before the ring lands decided it didn't want to stick around anymore 🥲 But probably didn't help I kept on smashing try limiter on the track and a few skid pans.
