Vernge more likely candidate for Lotus with their French sponsor and serious need to keep those $$$

Kimi to RBR makes sense to me - seriously underpaid at Lotus on just $3m and they're not proving to be a front runnning car as the season goes on. Makes sense for RBR as well - he's good fit for thier brand/image, and they could probably get a WDC and one of the most naturally talented drivers in the field for no more than they pay their No2 now.

Really? He has been doing a better job, but a good one? Fernando lapped hin in Canada before Massa put it in the fence.

in the fence? I think you'll find he finished 8th after starting 16th and most journos have described it as a strong performance.

it was a strong performance by little Massa, but became to overconfident and crashed into the barriers = not an epic achievement there

Did we watch the same race? Massa passed Kimi on the last lap (iirc) to finish 8th in the Canadian GP I watched. His crash was in qualifying...

yes, I was referring to Q2 and that was his third crash in within two GP's (two a Monaco and 1 in Canada)

Sorry I meant in qualifying - the race and qualy have blurred in my addled brain into one boring continuum. Bottas effort on Saturday being the only highlight. But then again the Canadian GP was so dull I basically slept through it so anything could have happened and I would have missed it. For me keeping track of how Massa is going nowadays is a bit like following Marussia, ie something best done by other people.

Still, PR blurb aside he was lapped by his team mate which isnt good. But probably not as disheartening for him as for Kimi. Silverstone will be equally as dull seeing as it tends to show up the speed differences in the cars much more than other tracks.

ah, so you were saying he became too overconfident before putting in that strong performance? maybe that is an epic achievement! hehe

Silverstone should be RBR and Ferraris again. Will be a good test to see how Mercedes are going with rear tyres on long fast corners... Lotus won't be anywhere unless its really hot. They're bringing the Med and Hards. With no changes to tyres

Well one RB & one Ferrari anyway. With the MB's fading after qualifying well. Atleast that is what I am putting the housekeeping money on.

I agree. I do however like how Force India is progressing. That team is surprising this season.

Considering they're basically the Mclaren B team, its even more impressive how badly they shaded the so called experts handing them all their bits and pieces

I dont think you give them enough credit .

Sure they have Mac gearbox etc but aero and suspension is all FI. They are doing an amazing job!

    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
