Thanks for the bump,

I have made a few mistakes, no space means Normal GTR.

It does have a rear wiper and Definitely has fogs in the lights but.

Hey gtr judd

I have found this for you mate.

I have no idea what it means but may point you in the right direction

So been busy on the gtr over last few days.

Most of my parts have arrived from japan, last part should be here this week so I can get the car back together! Getting very anxious as I have only driven the car twice since I purchased it. Need to put the turbos back on, new dumps, hks intake kit etc.. so will be very busy this weekend!

Pulled the front bar off other last week as i wanted to repaint my bottom lip.. Matched the colour up at work with a flattening base! came out nice. I also noticed It had a nismo front reo bar.

Unsure why it has a standard front bar, but more than likely had small impact in its time. So I figured the car should get the nismo ducts.

I had a go fitting the first duct last night, came out alright.. took a bit of time using a razor blade haha, but taking my time.

There genuine ones with clips, but need to be painted. Also bought the nismo bootlip too as i'm guessing my car would have had that when it took delivery to its first customer as the bonnet lip is genuine and same as the side skirts.

I have also matched up the original wheel colour the best i could by using the inside wheel with whats left of the original silver. So spent most of monday rubbing them back! Almost finshed preping them and then I can paint them up sometime this week.

Photo is a little crap, but gives an idea

Looks good dude!

How can I tell if my front reo is correct for my ducted bar without taking the bar off?

I finished putting my other duct in just before and fitted the bar up.. well test fit. Ive got a genuine nissan sticker with the part number still on the reo, I'll put it up when im back home. Will need to take the front bar off to see if yours genuine or not unfortunately.

Looks great......... Appears as though we are on the same path refurbishing our cars to the next level.

Shame we aren't closer geographically.

BTW...... Do you intend to fit the Skyline and GT badges on the bonnet and guards?

My car is currently at my trimmers fixing the drivers side bolster and redying the front and rear seats.

I'll post up some before and after pics on the weekend.

Cheers,

Bob.

Have you left the centre caps for the wheels black?

Yeah would be good if I also lived somewhere near you guys as I'm going through a lot of similar stuff with my car.

I kinda like the black outter edge of the wheel cap, I know factory form is silver... easy fix as I have some paint left over If I decide to do them :)

Yeah I would like to do the rest of the badging that it's missing and remove the indicators from the gards aswell. At the same time I do plan to get the rest of the car resprayed at the end of the year or early next, as ive noticed a few imperfections on some of the gards and the typical electrolysis bubbles on the aluminium (which is no drama, just lucky I dont have any rust any where!)
There is 3 colour variants for paint code KL0 and just so you's know it's the number 1 variant which matches the 93 model skylines.

Would you guys know the part number of the badges if possible? and probably re-do the rear gtr badge and Vspec sticker too.

It would be nice to catch up with a few like minded fellows, But I'm out in the sticks lol

    • Agreed with the rest. Also at least based on my own research, there are no readily available stock or close-to-stock RB20Neo maps that you could download and use as a base were you to buy a complete standalone ECU, and the regular 20DET maps don't really work well so you'd need to take it to a tuner if you have no experience. I installed an AEM V2 on my 20Neo+T and had lots of headaches until I got it to run and idle properly but I've yet to remap it fully. You have to start building up your timing and fuel maps entirely from the ground up; even the ones for a 25 didn't work at all.
    • Got some decent progress after work yesterday and also today. Got the ECU all wired and passenger side interior all back together. Kept the wiring up nice and high to avoid people standing on it. Got the surge tank relays rewired and tidied up the pump wiring and cut a hole to bring the cables through.  I found a spare USB cable I had lying around so I decided to cut it up and see if I could use it for my CAN 1 bus. Turned out one of the pins I needed was to the shield of the cable so i cut it up and desoldered it and resoldered to the correct pins.  Had the issue with the powersteering hose hitting the A/C compressor and fan shroud. I pulled the bracket off and modified it to remove the front mounting point which now clears it all. Will keep an eye on it to see if theres any signs of fouling once it's up and running.
    • That's some good input mate. Nice.
    • So today I went well outside my comfort zone (again) to replace my valve cover gasket.  I have had a big leak over the exhaust leading to a lot of smoke and smell every time I drove it. The leak was in the rear driver's corner.  The job wasn't hard as such, just a bit finicky and time consuming.  The old gasket was rock hard and broken right where the leak was.  The leaky corner had so much sitting oil in it.  The good news to my amateur eyes was no buildup or sludge under the cover. It all looked fairly nice in there.   I haven't started it yet. I ran out of light and body when putting the coils and injector loom back in. Probs only 30min left for the morning.  I was so nervous putting the cover back on, I must have lifted it 5 times to make sure the gasket was still seated properly. God it's going to be nice to be leak free and not make other traffic light queuers think my car is about to explode.
    • Gave the Mazda it's first wash, it will need some clay, a light compound, and polish polish to remove a few swirl marks, but that will be a job for when I have a full day to get my DA polisher action on
