Do you mean you take your front splitter off for trackdays? I just have a piece of webbing tied to the tow hook and out through the vent just incase.

r u driving down in the morning? given we live in the same suburb maybe meet at the BP and head down.

hey joe, yeah i need to see this webbing youve done and steal that idea. for the time being though i have to take it off. i somehow hit the front lip going around one of the corners at sandown. dunno how but ive cracked it. ive become quite a pro at taking the splitter off but i'd rather not.

which bp do you want to meet up at?

First time out at Phillip island had a great time

Got a 2.08.4 best lap for the day

Thanks to anyone who helped me with my alarm issue had to listen to it all the way home

I just removed it so don't need to put up with it anymore.

Looking forward to the next round of Motorsport.

yes good day at the island. great to catchup with all the SAU lads as usual.

new surface is super smooth and quite a few pb's today I think!

overheard a conversation from the winkleporker porsche garage "theres a datsun doing 44's!" hilarious!

Some Datto though. BTW did a bit of 911 munching myself, my wife informed me that it would probably have been a geriatric driving - nice!

Thanks goes out to the crews that make these events happen, special mention to Nick Luxton who fixed my suspension at the start of day, which meant I got to enjoy one hell of a day.

Too funny dude!

Another first timer at PI, farken loved it. Best time was a 1:59.6762. Have never heard my tyres squeal so much, love to get back out there with some decent rubber!

Have to thank the bloke who came out with me first session to guide me around the track and gimme some pointers. I'm f**king rubbish with remembering names but he said he had a couple fords (F6 typhoon and Capri's) and had taken a charger around the track? Either way, was really helpful and much appreciated.

What a day!!

Thanks to the WRX guys and gals for putting on another great event. Plenty of track time for anyone who wanted it :-)

I think everyones tyres were squealling......seemed to be the new surface as my tyres are usually silent.

Good times with Richo and my bro Chris thrashing around in close company!!

Painting your car pink. Photo's aplenty of yours, but only a couple of me! lol, just another silver r33 with black lip and carbon wing.

Well the bearings in my front turbo that had done all of 25kms decided to let go again - session 1, lap 1, turn 1!

The jealousy levels were very high. Track was looking beautiful and the weather conditions pretty much spot on.

Looked like another strong showing by the SAU crowd...great work!

Some awesome times being set by all....great work Richo and Sinisha :woot:

Sinisha got done for sound, didn't get many laps at all.

The porsche guys were putting soft drink cans on their exhausts and diverting the sound away.

Paul, wtf! That is massively sad

Really.

Yeah, not sure what was going on. Think I need to play around more with tyre pressures. I was getting some neutral 4 wheel drift going into the corners, but wasn't game enough to push harder, because it was squealing at all four. Just wouldn't corner for some reason.

    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
