Not me personally, but a mate had his WRX's Haltech tuned there. He had to take it back only once, for a very small hesitation that wasn't mapped into the ignition/fuel map correctly, but other then that, he said it was one of the best tunes he's had, and made loads of response for the setup he had. Having seen their Pulse Racing WTAC Evo in the flesh, these blokes do not lack attention to detail.

He gave them a 8.5/10 for his tune, and the cost was fairly reasonable too.

Cheers,

Shazza

Unigroup is at both Toongabbie and S. Windsor - it's where I happily took my V-Spec II - Yavuz is an expert as 50 SAU Members know.

Pulse Racing Menai - it's where I happily took my Forester XT - Paul is very good and has worked on RBs before as Nick would know.

the lol is because they built nicks time attack 33 gtr its a weapon

they do good work but when i went there they were hesitant to quote for work seemed disinterested in taking me on when i start to build mine in a month or so as they already had people lining up to take there car there

go have a chat and make your own decision.

I've only got good things to say about Paul & the Pulse team.I receive a text message the day before the car is booked in to confirm, greets me by my first name when I get there, shows an interest in what I am trying to achieve with the car and the work being done to it.

I've had my S14, R34 GTT and Evo maintained with these guys over the years.

Expensive, but work is top notch!

well i went there and he was very interested with seeing and tuning the car so it will be done at pulse in two weeks and he will have the car for three days. would of loved to tune the nos system to but i don't thing the fuel system will be up to it.

  • 2 weeks later...

i had a mate who took his gtr & also his evo 8 to pulse - very happy on both accounts.

another guy i know took his stock liberty there & also was ecstatic! i haven't heard anything negative to date nick...

i can say i have heard 'niggly' things about another tuner mentioned above in this thread after doing a back2back with Insight MS who is apparently VERY GOOD but im not name dropping :)

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
