My GTX 580 seems to be handling the game alright (Ultra) I've notice lag - but it wasn't FPS lag. I'll have to wait for the open release and see if I need to upgrade, to which I'll go to a 780.

Anyone smash this game out on the weekend? I can see a bright future. However, 2specs? Would be hard for a competitive scene. I guess they'll need to get a BattleTV like Counter-Strike:Source has (SourceTV) to spectate games.

I am level 5? only - with about 5 or so hours played. I'm deffo behind the leading levels (level 22+). I haven't really enjoyed BF4 as much as I did BF3 - but I guess when I start to unlock weapons it'll be a lot better. Also, the helicopters have been improved a lot but still HELL hard to land - and this is coming from an expert chopper pilot of the BFV, BF2 and BF3 series. It's a shame it feels like you're landing on ice and when you nose up for a sharp landing you just fall out of the sky - this may how it works in the realz, but having the helicopter psychics change after 10+ years really is not a smart idea.

Im enjoying it so far, especially hardcore over normal mode, which is strange cause in BF3 I preferred normal over hardcore. Unlocks feel slower than BF3, and there are lots more of them. I like the idea of unlocking weapons, class etc separately

wtb more hardcore domination servers though, annoys me how there are all these "HC" servers which are normal mode, to me HC means hardcore, unless Im missing something

Shame they fixed none of the bugs in BF3 though....

Yeah - I've always been an HC player. In BF3 and BF4 - there is one HC server that I know of (by MAD - or along those lines, get amongst it). Unlocking weapons does seem to take forever but I'm sure that is there for content. With BF3 I felt that there wasn't enough unlocks - now there are plenty to go around as well as time to unlock them.

I've been thinking about setting up a HC server myself so I can run a server how I like it - may as well get in the server realms so it will at least populate. I've been considering going competitive in BF4 but need to find a "Scene" that will support this idea.

I do believe BF3 is better, however it'll be a dying game as most, if not all will move over to BF4 as BF3 feels like an uncomplete game. BF4 aka BF3v2.0 will fill the gaps so bug fixes I'm not really concered about.

:)

The game is unfinished IMO

It has way to many crashes and sound issues.

Anyone played the dam level and had the sound completely cut out?

BF4 will have regulary patches to fix these issues. It is always unknown for DICE to see some of these bugs. They released the game 2 weeks after beta so only so much could get done. I reckon the next patch (a week at most imo) will have a lot of fixes. Many bugs will be weeded out by Christmas imo.

im going to give it a couple of months until stuff get sorted out.

Whilst a completely different game, I remember buying Diablo 3 when it first came out, I learnt my lesson then to wait a bit. Had $hit servers, constant errors essentially I couldn't play it. Im noticing these issues you guys are mentioning are also mentioned by a lot of others.

So I will keep with COD till about Dec then hopefully join you lot :-)

BF3 was the same, I laid off for 12 months (due to not being able to play it) - after that, it was a PAIN in the ass as a level 1 fighting against level 100's with all perks and weapon unlocks. But, running around as a medic dropping med packs got my levels.

Also, EA released an update for the servers for the "crashing" as well as server queing (Server queing could be a delay for all servers to update). This came out today on the BF4 Forums.

loving the game, hardcore has ruined normal mode for me though, but the lockups and lag are so damn frustrating.

On my other rig, IB i5, GTX 570, I cannot play more than a single map without a lockup, on mine it seems to be mainly 64 player servers that kill it. That's apart from the random disconnects.

I've also done all the preventative troubleshooting and this still occurs. Not to mention the bugginess of the maps. Don't even get me started on single player. They really need to fix their shit up, the game feels unfinished.

64 player maps are bugged atm - you'll be lucky to last a game without a crash/jittering.

    • Nah. Was just wondering if you were having a small stroke or if there was some slur/gaf/inside joke that I wasn't aware of.
    • That was a fark up, it's Salamanca Place I was thinking of. And now I'm curious as to what potential slur/gaf I have caused with Salamander Road, ha ha!
    • Actually everyone on the roads was really well behaved. The only person that did any minor tailgating was a local hoon in a Turbo Focus. Unfortunately we weren't going the same way so there was no grand initial D touge battle. Lots of people pulled over and let me through. The amount of "Hey man nice car, omg skyline, nice 34 man woo" was suprising. Like really suprising. Like almost annoying. My partner was obviously surprised, she'd never seen anyone in the real world point out the car/like the car/want to chat about the car before, so to have like 3 people per day mention it was notable, I could finally say SEE? SOMEONE THINKS THEY'RE COOL. Everyone was also pretty suprised about the weather. Every day was dry and about ~13-14C. Mount Wellington had a sign that said they close the gates at 9pm and I was heading up there at about ~7:30. It was VERY apparent that conditions were getting significantly worse by the minute on the way up and down. The road on the mountain was terrible though, it's no driving road. I have various suspension related questions now. Luckily it was only about 20 minutes from where we were staying to the top of the mountain as said Google maps. We only had the 2 nights in Hobart. We went to the Farm Gate Market though which was really good - And went down to the Hastings Thermal springs/caves down there during the day. I'd definitely be up for going back again, so luckily there's a few more sights yet to see. Didn't get to do the west coast/queenstown/cradle mountain so this was supposed to be a 'scouting' trip anyway of sorts if I were to one day do/take part in/organize a more car-focused trip. As for the boat, it wasn't bad. Well it was bad, but not in the way you're thinking. We did the night trip which leaves at 6:45 (though you have to be there ~2 hours earlier) and arrives the next morning at about 6am. There is nothing to do on the ship. If you plan accordingly and bring a book/tablet/show to watch/charger you can just chill out, take some Travacalm and just sleep through it. The food there is an extremely basic buffet that costs $32 a plate, or $14 for a $3 pizza. The way back we had a travel kettle and a few different types of cup noodles and made our own tea/coffee in the room. This was a far superior way to do it. At the very least book one of the rooms with beds. I guess as we were in the off season we didn't have room mates. You get an option for rooms with 4 beds (2x bunks) or a room with just the two bottom beds. There's also some option for a deluxe queen bed but it's much pricer. We've been on sleeper trains in Asia before so we figured this is similar (and it was)
    • You just gotta be really, really, really clear and decisive with what you want your end product to be. 99% of people who want this conversion aren't "I want to run a 295 front tyre!" so they don't really need the widebody. They just want the OEM body to look a little less dumpy, so bonnet, bar, skirts job done with some camber, stretch, slam. It's when you want that, but then decide to pivot later you get big problems. See also if you're willing to get an all in one fibreglass bar, and you're willing to accept fibreglass problems like cracking the entire item on a driveway, instead of just a piece attached to the bottom, etc etc etc. Decide this all before buyin'.
