Yep it sounds good from that perspective. What I was wondering is whether having a bed that is effectively uneven (assuming the rear wheels remain on the dropped part) makes it hard to push on/adjust location/hold while tying down etc etc.

My trailer has 3 metre ramps

They are awesome for lowered cars

No need for the beaver tail when you have very long ramps

I assume these slide up the length of the trailer and just slide out into position?

I saw a dodgy pic in your thread but didn't show too much... Needs moar pics :P

I had to go bever tail, 2.4mtr ramps, 100mm drop axles and also welded on top of the trailer bed sections of boxed gal steel so the car sat higher. Also heavily modified the trailer wheel arches so I could open the doors when I put the car on the trailer.

The tilta trailer and Nevco are way more expensive but I can see the less hassle from them.

SO I ENDED UP GETTING A 14FT X 6.6 FT TRAILER WITH BEAVER TAIL AND TYER RACK AND WINCH POST - CAME WITH WHEELS (DONT LAUGH SOME PLACES CHARGE FOR THEM) AND A SPEAR AND JOCKEY WHEEL AND RAMPS SLIDE UNDER THE TRAILER - I PAID $3250 DRIVEAWAY WITH NSW REGO WAS ABOUT $3500 IM AT WORK BUT I WILL POST A PIC TONIGHT -

I HAVENT HAVE ALOT OF EXERIENCE WITH CAR TRAILERS BUT THIS IS SO FAR THE BEST I HAVE USED DRIVES VERY WELL I WAS IN PEAK HOUR TRAFFIC IN SYDNEY WHEN I GOT IT HARDLY NOTICED AND DIDNT SWAY AT ALL ON THE HIGHWAY FROM HOME - FROM MARIO TRAILERS IS WHERE I PURCHASED IT - THEY WERE CHEAPST BY 2-300.

TILTAS TO LOOK GO BUT GOTTA HAVE THAT TYPE OF CASH - I ONLY JUST BROUGHT IT HOME SO HAVNT PLAYED WITH IT YET BUT SO FAR SO GOOD

STOP YELLING  lol

Those Mario trailers sure do look cheaper than most around, my missus spotted them a while back but after reading the guys advice above about steering clear of cheaper ebay spec trailers as long term they cause more hassle then they are worth, we decided to look locally and custom...

Post some pics so we can get a look ;)

I WILL !!!!!!!!!

sorry i work with caps on wasnt even watching lol

Mario trailers isnt ebay spec? if thats what you were saying,

like i said i havnt put the car on it at all yet but so far all signs are good - picks tonight

Lol

Not picking on Mario Trailers, just that we found them on ebay in the same price range as the others (Hence why i said ebay spec haha).... They may be better quality, i have never seen one and as you can see by me being in this thread, i have no farkin idea about trailers either lol

The reason i am worried about quality as its first real run is going to be from NSW --> SA --> VIC back to NSW for the SAU NATS!

Looking forward to more detail and feedback!

yeah same her i have no idea on spec as well -

i mainly focused on the top and the weights to make sure tow was safe ect - when it comes to breaks and things from what i read most ppl have different views -

but so far carless drive trailer was very good - and the rta i went to in sydney said they were getting customers from mario trailers every day -

ranging from car - camper to box ect - and the lady at marios said shed had 3 ppl from canberra enquire and 5 purchases - thats gotta be a good sign - soon as im home wil post some pics

matt im in the same boat as you.

im looking at getting a trailer and first run is vic to sa then back!

im looking at going a tilt trailer with a hyraulic ram at the front so i can load unload my car anywere.

i hire a servo trailer atm and its so hard to get on and off, only certain places i can take it off and on.

yeah on that....servo trailers are almost always death traps. while you might use one to move something around town if you needed to, taking one on a long drive is likely to end in tears.

they are heavy, often have bent axles/bad alignment, cheap tyres, unmaintained hubs etc etc. I have seen some that are brand new which would probably be OK if you are lucky to get in before some other mug bends it, but most of them are terrible.

duncan, i hate using the servo trailer but ive had to in the past because lack of funds,

but now im going to buy a hydraulic ram tilta because servo trailers are 'death traps' as you put it.

what do people think of the hyraulic ram tilta trailers? i can get a brand new un painted tilta with the

ram and ramps and no lighting, half floor no sides, low guards, hydraulic brakes, 100mm drop axles for $2800 ?????

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
