Hey people, I bought a skyline with a lot of mods but have yet to get it dyno'd so i have no idea what kw's its putting out.

I've listed what its had done and hopefully some1 can tell me possibly what power it could be putting out and any estimated times likes 0-100 km/h, quarter mile. I know nothings rock solid till I get papers to prove. Im after a sheer estimate.

The car is:

r33 GTS25T 95' Series I

GTR Front Mount Intercooler

GTR Fuel Pump

T3/T4 Highflowed VL Turbo

Apexi S-AFCII *yet to be tuned at Croyden 'Racing Emotion' will get Dyno before and after*

GReddy Profec B Boost Controller

Blitz Dual Turbo Timer

3" Exhaust

High Flow Cat

MegaFlow Muffler Twin 2" Tip

Pod Filter

Blitz Open-Atmosphere BOV

Brass Button Clutch

Locked Dif

Light Racing Rims

9.5" Wide Rear Tires

Lowerd 3" Inch *Estimated*

Strut Brace

Always run Optimax 98 Octane.

Stock ECU *Yes, PowerFC soon, Autronic would be nicer*

Max Boost 10psi because of Stocko ECU.

I'll have to get it on strips soon. Have to get 3-point belt first right?

Anyway anyone who has similar mods and any times, or readings would be great.

Cheers:run:

JimX, can you please explain why you dont agree that the Autronic is not nicer then the PowerFc

uh, oh ... i can see another ECU debate brewing ;)

Depending how the SAFCII goes with the static ignition timing i think you will make about 220rwkws with more to come with the management sorted...provided your T3/4 is a good thing

I didn't say the Autronic wasn't a better ECU. I was looking at his mods which are very mild, and wondering why he thinks an ECU geared up for racing cars would be "nicer". I'm not sure, but doesn't it ditch your climate control along with many other aftermarket ECUs such as Motec? This could have been something they've fixed, but I seem to remember way in the past reading that it didn't support the Skyline's climate control.

For a mild car, all I can see in an Autronic would be a higher initial purchase cost, higher tuning costs, a limited number of tuners that could do it, and potentially no more climate control. "Better" argument aside, I still can't see how it is "nicer".

Ahhhh great estimates, thanks.

I have done 0-100 in 6.01 with 1 passenger at 10psi, granny shifting with a stop watch.

I was a little disappointed with that thinking i would get into the 5's possibly a little easier. I would have to get into Mid 5's if i was running 10psi, No passengers, and Double Clutching. You can really feel the difference even with one passenger.

As for Quarter Mile. I did a street quarter mile at an approx 13 sec with 1 passenger, 10psi, granny shifting. I believe i'd get into mid to low 12's if no passengers, double clutch.

One Last Question. If I got my new ECU and say boosted to 14 - 16 psi. What type of rwkw and Quartermile times could i get then. Would we be talking about low 12's, high 11's would be nice. The difference between 7 and 10 psi is huge. That extra 3 psi gives me 20km/h higher speed in 2nd gear. So if i had another 4 - 6 pound. I'd imagine it'd really start flying then.

Yeh good point, I wouldnt get a Autronic for 2 reasons in my situation. 1. The price. 2. I'd have no use for my T Timer or Boost controller no more. Autronic handles all that. Its funn adding parts here and there to your car. There's a place i seen who said they'd do an Autronic for me for like $3000 or something, they great mechanics, but I'd just go the PowerFC coz all up you can buy 1, have it installed and tuned for around $1600. I never knew that about Climate Control? Surely the new models wouldnt have that problem, anyway who cares, i aint getting one.

Thats odd, as the top speed in each gear is restricted by the rev limit, unless you were shifting earlier, and changing boost wont change your rev limited

You should go a lot faster if you dont double clutch, you only need to double clutch a non-syncro gearbox, like an old truck or something.. meaning push the clutch in, let it out when its in neatural and blip the throttle, push the clutch back in and finish the gear change...

hahaha u think u would run quicker 0-100 times if u were double clutching?????

I think u mean flat shifting????

double clutching? wtf? i think you've been watching a little too much fast and the furiNAWS.

vin diesel's granny shifting speech was full of crap and didn't make sense... oooh..

Hmmm Ok. Firstly Yeh. I usually run standard 7 psi. Which gives me 80km/h in 2nd at around 6500 rpm. when i use boost controller and put it up to 10psi, i can do 100km/h in 2nd gear at same rpm 6500

As for doubleclutching. Have you even tried it? It really kicks you in to the back of your seat surges the car forward. The difference between 'flat' shifting and double clutchin in 3rd and above makes quite a difference. Certainly gets you do the next gear quicker.

This thread is great!

Must be all that "double clutching" which is changing your gear ratios on the fly dude!

Correct if im wrong...double clutching is depressing clutch entering neutral releasing clutch...get the sybnchros moving then depress clutch and enter gear...gas on..?

Thats not what u do in a drag...u just quick shift or flat shift

Yes Vin Diesel what you were told to say in the script is WRONG.

Please explain to us what you think double clutching is????

Dude the car does Nkm/h at Xrpm regardless. You will not change this without changing the gear ratios in the gearbox or the diff.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
