Yeah,

Lots of stress on the body when you're putting out 1000hp....especially in an older & fragile R32 chassis.

Chances are the panel gaps will get warped.

To achieve 1000hp with an RB20, you're going to need to stroke out the block to 2.4L (go with I-BEAM conrods as they can be lighter yet attain the same strength as a heavier H-Beam) and cement fill the block for high boost application, then strap on twin HKS GT3040 turbines, convert to solid lifters, full E85 conversion and fuel system to suit, modify the cylinder head as necessary (including a set of drag spec camshafts) and optimise port design etc etc, and lots of other stuff.

Done.

Thanks been waiting on this answer.

Will exclude the cement fill XD.

lol at euro being monopoly money.

HAVE YOU SEEN SHITTY AUS DOLLARS?

IMO admin should set up the site so that when people write "negative nancy" it auto changes to "negative plattsy" like it does with 'kunt' and 'flammin mongrel'

i like this. +1 for this idea.

also shit post should be "an ianjb" from now on. :woot:

No worries.

Cement fill is likely to be necessary for a 1000hp RB20. It is called "block filler".

It gives the block more rigidity, as at high power output the cylinder liners will experience distortion while you're laying down the power (e.g. as they are surrounded by areas which actually can be considered a weak area - e.g. water jacket).

You can still run water cooled setup if you fill the block to the top row of frost plugs. But for best support you would block fill it completely to the top, but you won't be able to run water cooled anymore.

if you don't, will it create seal gaps?

In all seriouseness Jem did a 540 kw rb 20 once but it was running nos to spool the stupidly large turbo and then it exploded on the line at the drags from memory

If I don't the liners will just crack?

I was thinking without nos.

He was serious about the cement, its definitely required.

I am using CNC liners as well really need for the cement?

hard Bloc helps stop the bore walls flexing out under power stroke allowing pressure to bypass piston

thanks

wtf is a cnc liner?

I meant bore wall

Helps overall rigidity also which is a big variable when talking 1000hp.

Grout/cement filled block will be a must.

that to, I've seen how much a 26 block twists with 700hp, can only imagine how much a 20 block does with 1000+hp

I think ip has watched too many youtube videos on cnc lathes

Op I can sell you one start at 80k

Ppl are overestimating this.............

80k?? AU or EU???

    • Pretty sure it is a common fault. I believe this is the only part you need, but don't quote me as I don't have a V36.  I also believe it is a bit of a pain to change and the device needs to be encoded to the car once it is replaced, so may need someone with the right tools. • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
