Yeah a guy at work said I should call the NRMA to check with a multimeter for me. I managed to get to work with a jump pack (didn't work straight away though, took a few goes) so I'll see how it goes when I try to get home lol

What happened originally is that I used the high beam and the car went into limp mode (yes, warning lights on the dash, like when the coil packs go)... no power at all, even the stereo cut out. Got home, car only JUST started the next day, and then wouldn't start after work but a jump start got it going.

That was last week and it's been fine all week (I haven't touched the high beams, been too scared). Then today..... nothing :(

Thread defs should be a sticky where people can post up their issues and we can all get together to try and help

What do you think shell?

This thread is too long and I skip posts. Just let me know if you want me to have a look :).

Eiji and Zeb, that would be great if you have time.... tomorrow after work, or some time on the weekend?

Happy to sticky the thread if you guys want.... I'm bad with stickies though, I tend to ignore them LOL

Very unlikley to be low comp after you do a hot test, but in saying that my drift car had almost no comp and we only found that out when decklan from garage 7 put a new clutch in, it was so low you could blow on the flywheel and it spin lol.....nah but you could turn the engine over with a finger and the bastard still made 280rwkw. Then to top things off the engine sounded perfect however when I pulled the sump off to have a look in there a whole bearing was in the bottom of the sump.....WTF LOL, still ran great and did some stinky skids.

Whatever suits you best shell. Weekend is probably better because daylight

Yeah true... I have no plans, so any time except morning haha. I might just check if my dad has one first, cos I'm going to try to visit him this arvo.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
