Hello all,

Ill be purchasing my new set of rims in the future for my R33 GTST.

18x9.5 +22 seems very popular for the 33 gtst and I know for sure that it is possible to fit a 265 tyre on the rear with that offset, however I am worried about the front as from what I gather it sits out a bit furthur than the rear.

So my question is, does anyone have any pictures or info regarding a +30 offset with a 9.5" rim on the FRONT of a 33 gtst?

If the +22 sticks out a bit, the 8mm difference with the +30 should keep it in a bit, but I am concerned it may foul on suspension or body parts etc.

Its also a bit strange that I have gone through the countless pages on the wheel fitment thread, and some peoples 9.5" +22 seems flush whilst others seems to hang out a bit. (on 33 gtst). One moment im sure +22 will be fine front and rear and now ive just seen some new photos and im unconvinced again.

DONT want to run stretchy as hell 225/235 tyres. I really wanna run Federal 595 265/35r18 all round.

I was looking into the same fitment for mine. Read a number of posts that the 9.5 +30 will touch the suspension at full lock. I guess you can drive around it, but it was enough to turn me away from the idea.

I ended up going 9 +20 front, and 10 +38 rear (XD9s), and although is good fitment with no hassle, sometimes wish I went with 9.5 +22 all round.

Also for what it's worth, I don't think that the 235 is that stretched on a 9.5. In fact I quite like the shape of the sidewall you get with that fitment.

Anyway, whatever you go with, make sure you post up pics in the fitment thread once done, so we can admire.

Zero chance of fitting 18x9.5 +22 with a 265/35r18 on the front.

Theres a bloke in the 33 thread who has done so with a gtst, which is what inspired me. But im thinking of just going 245 on the front and 265 rear anyway.

Also going to 9.5 +22 as it turns out some 9.5 +30 and higher fit but Varrstoens design does not in +30.

235/40 is the correct size, not 245/40, and they're cheaper.

9.5" +30 is normally said to hit the inside on the front. A RSR 265/35/18 on +22 would be DAMN tight on the rear I'd think it would hit without some decent neg camber.

I ran 18*9.5 all round and they'd scrape on the front with full lock, they ended up ripping out my inner guards too but not sure that would happen to yours..

hey Mark got any photos?

Man I want the new Work CR Kiwami but they only have 18x9.5 +20 (which is a little too much poke I reckon)

    • Bit difficult to follow. Have a look below and see what the standard R32 layout was like. Note there was a restrictor in place immediately before "turbocharged pressure control solenoid" that, if removed, magically got you 1 bar boost.
    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
