Mugabetown - Whoretownin' At It's Worst.

Fk financial advice most people would say I am a terrible person to discuss financial advise with but the way I see it I am a problem solver, something goes wrong I find a way to fix it, same with money. When shit hit the fan with my douche of an ex I had near on 65k of debt for shit we had that he kept (inc. 2 cars and a dirtbike plus c/card crap) 4 years later its down to 15 plus I have paid off an additional 15k cash in education expenses over the last two years on top of my hecs - Then people wonder why I work all the time and have no money. Debt sucks and the only debt I look forward to is a house, I learnt the hard way! But knowing I can pay all my shit plus save for a wedding, pay rent, groceries for two and all the house bills whilst the other half hordes money for a mortgage is well worth the amount I work! How do I do it? I am insanely organised to the point that I often freak myself out that I have forgot something but it is just that I am that organised...

However if I don't give a shit I am not organised at all...

Disciplined :)

Haha not the right word for me, I problem solve - Really want those shoes really can't afford them, wing it so I work more that week to get them...

That's even more disciplined. In management terms they call that Locke's goal setting theory. Essentially you set waypoints to getting things you want to achieve. They have another acronym too called SMART

Specific - there is a precise and clear statement of intended outcome.

Measurable - there are clear indicators (quantitative or qualitative) of whether goal has been achieved.

Achievable - The goal is achievable, within available resources and environmental constraints, and is compatible with other goals that have been set.

Relevant - the goal is aligned with broader goals, values and priorities, which provide a rationale for the goal.

Time-bound - The goal includes a statement of precisely when it is to be achieved.

Winning Mel :)

Mel, if you've managed to affectively clear 65K (50 in debt 15 in education) in 2 years, I wouldnt say that you're bad with money... I'd say you've got it quite well managed at the moment.

Oh an Tim... Do you happen to have a spare R33 GTST S2 bonnet you'd part with?

I didn't get one with 2nd car - had to negotiate that out, as I had Titans. I can get you one pretty cheaply though, or a GTR one if you'd like they are significantly lighter. PM me for details.

No all pretty good

Just a little bit of carbon build up, looks like it was maintained well

Ok so question

If Kathryn gets this na 33

Should I take the cams and injectors from the rb25 I just picked up and put them in hers or are the cams the same

I Know the inj's are a good upgrade

I'm not sure about their compatibility, as I normally upgrade with aftermarket stuff. I am guessing, but there may be a difference in the engines compression ratio (piston tops)and there would most likely be stronger valve springs in the turbo motor, also the valve seats might be different. inj shouldn't be a problem. According to Wicki the bore and stroke is the same and the cams are the same duration and lift between the motors, accordingly no benefit from cam swap. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_RB_engine

Also, sounds like you sourced a really good RB30 engine. :)

I wouldn't swap cams.

NA and turbo engines run a different profile for a reason.

Injectors, will it need extra fuel? What're you going to do to tune it? What mods to require more fuel?

Tim PM incoming on 2 different topics

Ok guys so if all goes well on Saturday providing Ben can make it and I get his 31, my goal is to have it on the road for charity cruise the only bad thing that will hold me from having this happen is being broke as a bum

If you get the na, don't go sticking turbo bits in while na.

Turbo cams and na cams have different profiles because they benefit from the cams have more or less overlap depending on desired application.

If you get any mods for it keep them basic as they arent worth much when sold and will cost significantly more than just buying a turbo one to begin with

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
