Nope, just trying to help, not be a smart arse.

Interesting that it comes to a maroon 32, also gives you a snip at the VIN, and more importantly, it's still registered,. Now, could it be coincidence? Yes, the plate could have changed car, but it seems to add up.

What year does your search commence from? Also, there appears from Duncan's link to be an imposter. Are you able to post up search result.

Car was definitely purple.

I did. It doesn't.

In any event, I'm not sure what a maroon GTR has to do with the special company purple hue the car was painted. The plates were a reference pre searchy by two years at least. Those plates would have moved onto another car by now.

What makes this car so significant?

It was a no expense spared build at the time by a well known Jp workshop. It featured in magazines and videos. It was well know in Australia at the time and then it disappeared. Similar to a Jun Gtr,

Top secret gtr, veilside gtr, or mines gtr. It was a workshop owned and built car.

Given the length of time past since they sold it, I would think the bread crumbs would be very difficult to follow. I am sure that no personal information would be given in any event. I am hoping someone on the forum can update on the car and what became of it. Also interested in the old Joviant built, Kakimoto bodykitted GTS25T too - what became of that car? Are they still about and in what condition?

Unsure about that car.

But my car was originally built by Brett at Joviant. He closed up shop about a year after I bought my car. I think around 2008.

This was his GTR (that motor is now in my car, btw). http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=1930

I will say this. For a 2003 built motor it is still going strong. I just did a turbo upgrade and just about ready to bump up the boost for another 50 kw or so. Although it could probably use a freshen up. It has about 50,000 k's @ 260-320kw.

This is great Eric. I knew Brett and worked around the corner from his shop in Brookvale when the car was being built. He spent a lot on the engine. I remember at the time they were hand crafting an entire exhaust for it that ran twin pipes all the way. Did it still have this exhaust when you got the engine?

Brett loved that car, and this type of information is exactly why I started the thread. A known workshop owned and built gtr with history. At around the same time he was developing the gtr, they also had a white wide-body kitted Kakimoto built r33 gts25t do you know anything about that car. Also be interested to know what happened to Brett and Joviant?

I bought my car from Sebaz here. He bought that motor from Brett cause they were mates. So I just had the Motor and Autronic SMC set up from Brett's car. Not sure what happened to his car.

I didn't really know Brett other than the one time we were introduced by Sebaz when I bought Seb's GTR.

My car was the only Joviant Built one I've come across.

Business relationship only Tim, if that helps.

John's Dad and I are both pharmacists too, but I don't remember him now.

Rohin (aka gtr_fan) bought his ADM R32 GT-R off John at UAS, if that helps too.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
