Lip reading the couple's conversation in the white Corolla that pulled over for a minute halfway up Mac Pass yesterday??...

Wife:- "My my those cars are going so fast!"

Husband:- "No no we're just going too slow!"

Wife:- "Oh-h-h"

Husband too impatient for the rest of the convoy to pass:- "Damn this! I'm going to call our grandson and grab that Supraline back!" > then blindly pulls out into traffic :(, nearly cutting off "Indi"

I have a shot of the rolla pulled over as you were going past haha

thanks terry and luke great to meet and also good to see mr33yo and wongy there as i pretty sure it was all 3 of us on our first skylines aus meet and what a better than a awsome cruise hats off to the coordinators for making it safe and enjoyable and to everyone for the safe and fun driving and not being stupid dicks and rip skids at lights wrecking the duco as i have expierenced in other car clubs

yep jake, that shit doesn't fly with SAU - anyone doing burnouts on one of our cruises finds themselves very quickly disavowed and then a phonecall to the police. as was said, we've got a good relationship with the police (we almost got a HWP to come out onto the texi pad once), and we like to keep it that way - we're there to enjoy our cars, not be idiots.

glad you had a good time though!

That's a pleasure Jake.

I forgot to add at the briefing that we usually ask anyone with exposed pods etc, to slot in at....

Good seeing everyone again. And meeting a couple of new faces.

Big thanks to everyone that got involved and to those who organised the event. Great turnout, lots of great cars. Looking forward to the next one!

As a fellow R34 Red GTT owner (which looks identical besides the red plates :P)- I'm curious as to know how much power this bad boy is running if you would know?

shy of 300... for now

Great cruise, good to catch up with everyone! Canberra side of things was a little under-attended compared to you Sydney lot haha... but all good.

Special douchebag points to the loser on the motorbike who screamed past us at full revs, then gave the wanker hand gesture to the guys standing around a Supra. Oh the ironing!!!

Had my 2 leftover bits of Pizza at Smoko today. Mmmmmmmm mmmmmmm... Interstate Tasty. :D

Got all the rain today. Glad it held off and didn't ruin the Drive. When's the next one? :woot:

Fuel Consumption wasn't unreasonable either : 11.18L / 100km.

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
