Its a bit nasty!

Pulled into my local Mobil last night, To find the Cops in there XR6 turbo grabbing everyone who came in to either roadworthy, breath test and license check people.

Its a bit nasty, all you want to do is pull in for fuel and you get canary'd. I saw a few guys parked looking a bit upset with a sticker on the windshield, and you've never seen so many people in new SS commodores slowly sneaking out up the road not revving above 2 grand.... Thank christ I was filling up Mums Festiva

A petrol station isn't "private property" due to the fact that there is public access.

And as far as I know, Police can defect a vehicle anywhere, including in your driveway.

I understand this to be true as well, as long as there is no gate or fence etc. Doesnt mean its right tho.

Where is this servo? Is it a Quix?

remember to lock your gates tho, coz if its open they don't need a warrant, just like your house, if you leave the door open they can enter without a warrant

:bs!: Doesnt that mean they would never need a warrant because they could just walk in as soon as you unlock the door to see who it is?

They must have a warrant or your permission to enter your house.

It's also one of those jurisdiction things...

If you have a pound of weed in your glovebox while you are driving, it's free and clear for prosecution. They can search with provocation.

If the car is parked in your garage and they have no warrant, it's forfeited as inadmissable.

If you have the pound of weed sitting on your dining room table as the cops come in on a non-related matter, it is admissable as a incidental seizure.

I can only see the cops getting more and more cavalier in their approach towards modified cars so I think we're all eventually forced back to more stock performance cars like M3's, s2000 etc.

if the door is open and unattended and they have reasonable doubt as to your safety they can enter :) technicality

Technically, if you leave your door unlocked, anyone can walk in without permission.... and if you assault them or hurt them in anyway, then YOU are the one at fault. If someone wanders into your house, you can ask them to leave, but until you have asked them to leave, theres absolutely nothing within the law that says they cant be there.

The law is a very strange thing.

    • Hi Experts, My father’s car Mahindra Jeep CJ500 2.5L, 1986 model. Currently registered in Overseas.  Want to replace the engine in Overseas with Mahindra Bolero 2016 2.5 L turbo used engine ( not endorsing new engine number on Rego paper in Overseas. Then Importing to NSW. Is this car eligible for NSW registration if able to submit all compliance certificates?   Regars.
    • I know you said no amps in the boot, but there's enough space next to the battery for a pair of modern small foot print amps OR one small 6x channel amp. This is what I did over 6 years ago, used 2x marine amps (no decent 6x or 5x channel amps back then)
    • Pressure delta gauge is pure pron. No guessing, no excuses.
    • That’s the one. Yeah, the seller has confirmed the base ECU is from a manual car.    To be honest, I’m only worried about the TCS light being illuminated due to registration here in NL - unsure on rules. Back in Japan, we weren’t allowed to have any permalit error-related lights (or so my shaken guy said).    Looks like this Nistune is the way to go then, appreciate it GTSBoy, and the others that chimed in.
