Yeah id have to agree there, Im a big follower of the F1 and chances of those figures being exact is slim, not to mention they usually like to match engine power to certain circuits. Renault actually recently went through with a engine upgrade for this weekends canadian grand prix with a myriad of changes resulting in alleged increased power.

I think in F1 they spend more in one race than a leading V8 supercar spends in the whole year, does that explains it?

I remember somewhere that bridgestone quoted for every tyre that makes it to the track atleast 10 would have been used up in testing

i think the problem with jag is cosworth......americans are useless pricks!

nevertheless Jag are in trouble next year with HSBC likely to back out so Webber better leave as soon as he can

Cosworth is British and their achievements in any form of racing can not be scoffed at.

They supply three F1 teams (Jordan, Minardi and Jaguar) with engines, albeit they are all different to each other.

Jaguar's engine is a brand new design and still under some sort of development. They only had 1 engine failure this season and it was electrical. Webber still managed to finish 13th in that race.

Michael Schumacher won his first championship driving a Cosworth powered Benetton in 1994.

Enough of Cosworth, where did those power figures originate from...? Do they have dyno graphs...? :bahaha:

Cosworth is without a doubt English!

I'm sure I remember M schumacher saying a while back that none of the cars are over 1000hp presently and it was unlikely they would break that barrier in the near future, which at least partially supports the list above. More gains were to be made from aerodynamics

Nissan would be mad doing f1, i remeber Toyota claim to be a dominate team by the third season, and where are they at the moment? after spending Well over $100 mill. euro last year. F1 is a case of having the techno resource pool to go looking for results, Something that money cannot solve overnight.

i thought the exact same until I heard james alan on the commentry saying that it was american based....Im sure that Jordan and Jag are using the new spec cosworth engine although I am deffinite that Minardi are using a lower spec but better in reliabilty, having said that their lap times are 2sec quicker than last years and are fairly close to Jordon this year.

i dont think horspower is as much of an issue as you guys are making it....its the whole package, especially aero, reliabilty, low centre of gravity and balance that makes a good racing car.... and everyone in the paddock knows who has the most hp as everyone knew last year that williams had the most (which was most noticeable on long straights) yet Ferrari still claimed the world and constructors championship!

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
