Left hospital or just woke from coma.

Too many differing reports.

Schumacher has been transferred to the University Hospital of Lausanne, the Swiss hospital confirmed on Monday (Sydney Morning Herald)

Moved to new hospital.

both mate.

Out of coma and hospital :)

Out of a coma doesn't mean that he is conscious, it just typically means that he is breathing for himself and responsive to external stimuli such as touch, whether there is higher brain function has not been revealed, as far as I have seen.

the coma was induced but they cut the medication to bring him out of the coma months ago... It's still obviously a massive positive that he's out of the coma now and has been moved from the Genova hospital.

Apparently when awake he is 'responsive', but the degree of that responsiveness has not been revealed. Highly unlikely to be the same after such a long coma, but there's no point speculating that he's a 'vegetable and will never see the light of day again' ffs

Michael Schumacher out of coma: 7-time world Formula One champion leaves Grenoble Hospital

Formula One champion Michael Schumacher is out of a coma and has left the French hospital where has been receiving treatment since his devastating ski accident in December, his spokeswoman said Monday.

In the surprise announcement, the retired racing star's spokeswoman, Sabine Kehm, said he had been transferred to a facility in Switzerland where he will continue his recovery.

"Michael has left the CHU Grenoble (hospital) to continue his long phase of rehabilitation. He is not in a coma anymore," Ms Kehm said.

"His family would like to explicitly thank all his treating doctors, nurses and therapists in Grenoble as well as the first aiders at the place of the accident, who did an excellent job in those first months."

The 45-year-old was transferred to a hospital in the Swiss city of Lausanne, hospital spokesman Darcy Christen later said, where the seven-time world champion will undergo further treatment.

"For the future we ask for understanding that his further rehabilitation will take place away from the public eye," Ms Kehm said.

No further information was released about Schumacher's condition, which has been kept under a tight lid since his accident in the French Alpine resort of Meribel on December 29.

He underwent two operations to remove life-threatening blood clots, before being placed into a medically induced coma.

His family announced at the end of January that drugs used to keep him in his deep sleep were being reduced with a view to bringing him back to consciousness, but few other details had filtered out since then.

Schumacher is well known for his love of adrenaline sports, and even after retiring from the high-risk world of racing, he kept pursuing other high-thrill hobbies as a pilot, an accomplished motorbike rider, parachutist, skier and mountain climber.

He survived a motorbike accident in Spain in 2009, during which he suffered head and neck injuries but was released from hospital after just five hours.

The accident on December 29 proved near fatal, but in several statements released to the media, his wife Corinna and two children said they remained confident that the man who defied death more than once on the track would pull through.

In Monday's statement, Ms Kehm said Schumacher's family wanted "to thank all the people who have sent Michael all the many good wishes".

"We are sure it helped him."

Yep, he's out of a coma. Pretty safe to say that it'll be years before he's ever at another f1 event, if he ever makes it to one again. His head injury was bad enough that they put him in a coma. That has to say something about the extent of his injuries and the sort of condition he will be in. I think that if his condition wasn't so bad then there'd be more news and would've been more updates over the past 6 months.

    • We have one that holds 2.8L of water. On floor carpet that hasn't been touched in 2 or 3 years, will take a minimum of 2 fills of the tank to do a bedroom, and that's going AROUND the bed.   In the cruiser, I used an ENTIRE 2.8L tank, just on the front passenger footwell. But it had some fungus growing, and had been full of mud from being used as a 4WD for many years. I can do that floor again, and it will still pull mud out. However, the water now only looks dirty, not pitch black and leaving full sludge in the bottom of the tank it sucks back into. Oh, and, this is about a $1500 unit.
    • This is mine, works a treat for the cars, suction is good, I use the Bissell clean and protect stuff I have found giving it a good spray and light scrub with the soft brush on the head of the nossle for carpet, and a rub with a microfibre for cloth seats and cloth door trims, prior to another quick spray before vacuuming it up works the best @GTSBoy You would surprised on what it gets out of carpet and seats that actually "look" clean, I recommend that you test drive yours when you have a little time to kill, then post pics of the muddy looking water that I believe you will find
    • I think even the "commercial" capacity ones that you would hire from supermarkets etc wouldn't have the capacity to do all that much in one go. I will go through half a dozen tanks of solution and dumps/rinses of the waste tank for one little 2 seat sofa. Or similar for one 6 footish rug. That's the price you pay for something small that only takes up a bit of cupboard space, instead of something that takes up the entire laundry cupboard or half the shed.
    • Someone needs to copy it, improve it aesthetically, make it DBW ready from day 0 and send it to the motherland Chynah for my relatives to cast it and mass produce it 😅
    • U read my mind, going to machine it off or get a high temp vinyl etc stick on plate made up. There’s so many other ways they could have made it look cool. Have the option anyway as I need to cut off the throttle body flange and get the dbw flange welded on.
