Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher is in hospital after suffering a head injury in a skiing accident.

The 44-year-old fell while skiing on unmarked slopes in the French Alps and hit his head on a rock.

He was attended to within minutes of the accident before being airlifted to Moutiers hospital.

Despite initial reports suggesting his injuries were serious it is believed that Schumacher, who was wearing a helmet, is not in a serious condition.

According to the Press Association, Gernignon Christophe Lecomte - director of the Meribel resort in which Schumacher was staying – told Radio Monte Carlo Sport that the ex-Ferrari and Mercedes racer was conscious, and was airlifted with 15 minutes of the accident.

The German's manager Sabine Kehm confirmed nobody else was involved in the fall, and was also quoted as saying: "Michael fell on his head when he was on a private skiing trip in the French Alps. He was taken to hospital and is receiving professional medical attention.

"We ask for understanding that we cannot give out continuous information about his health."

'Tis likely that "Schu" will remain in a "permanent vegetative state" unless...

Dat penises nose though

The Chin could live with the step but buggered if he was driving a penis nose.

I've only ever seen a sketch of one bloke's interpretation (ie 'guess') of what the 2014 cars would look like that suggest they'll have a 'penis nose'. All the other guesses have been very different. I'd be willing to bet scarb's is miles off when the cars get unveilled.

Force India looks good. Can't see the nose yet though...

'Tis likely that "Schu" will remain in a "permanent vegetative state" unless...

Last I heard before the family closed off communications with the outside world was he was still in a coma. Vegetative state is a different clinical state. "Permanent vegetative state" is certainly not what anyone has called it, because they don't use that term until the patient has been that way for about 1yr...

The truth of the situation isn't terribly optimistic, but spreading completely incorrect information is not helpful. This is about the best quality information (well speculation) we have since the family shut off communication to his many anxious fans:

for those that haven't seen check this out for a bit of detail about the engines for this year.

is it just me or do these newest lot of regs spoil what could have been some incredible engineering?

They should just make it a regulation that the very tip of the nose cone had to be wider and it wouldn't look so bad? Eg tip of nose width must be 'X' mm wide or '85-90'% of the width 300mm from tip

Formula 1 is to make another attempt to ban tyre warmers in 2015.

Previous efforts to introduce a ban have been scuppered because of safety concerns, amid worries from drivers about racing on cold tyres.

But as part of a raft of changes proposed for 2015, the FIA announced on Thursday that all forms of tyre heating devices will be outlawed.

The FIA has also ratified that the minimum weight of cars will increase by 10kg to 701kg in 2015 - which should help alleviate concerns that heavier drivers are put at a disadvantage.

    • That's awesome. Fully serviced/full log book history for one of those cars is super rare from what I know. With JDM's like Skyline's, Supras, are quite hard to find one with full log book history. S15's seem to be somewhat of an exception, at least the spec s australian delivered models.
    • Hey all, It's been a bit since I have been able to update.  I pulled the fuel pump, first off it was a "universal" pump and the strainer was very clogged, and it was folded over on itself.  I replaced the fuel pump and all is well....  No more stalling.
    • That's convinced me I'll bump up the G30-660 to 770   Any idea if the difference in boost pressure? Cheers

    • Hey guys so turns out this project is going to be much bigger than I thought haha but I've done some my homework and have done a few panels on my car, but one part I can just not visualise is this. If I do a spot repair and I put filler in a dent for example and sand outside of the repair with 320 grit lets say so the primer can stick as I will only put primer on that repair and the surrounding area and then repaint the whole panel. Don't I need to make sure that I don't put primer on the old clear coat? I keep seeing YouTube videos where people have new paint and primer land on the old clearcoat that isn't even dulled down, it's still shiny. I thought putting paint on clearcoat or primer on clearcoat is a bad idea because it won't stick. So in this scenario it's a bit different to mine but imagine someone doing a spot repair and only painting that small section of repair but the new paint is landing on the old clearcoat. What am I missing?
