Hey guys , been on the forum for awhile never really posting just looking around parts and D.I.Y s

So I thought might aswell start a build thread for the car.

Here is my 1992 r32 gts , yer it's a gts I know , but after having a r34 gtt sedan,

S15, r32 sedan, r32 gtr x, 300zx .... The list goes on ..

I've decided that it would be nice to start with a car from the bottom and build it to my standards , and + I got it for real cheap all running :D

Any who the car starts it's life as a rb20de manual , has a dodgy pod filter that isn't even held on properly and a poor paint job

Not the best of conditions as the last owner/s seem to be a bit well.. The car should reflect there previous love towards her >>

Hope to post as much as I can when free hope there's more to come :)

So update guys just picked up a new boot and rear bar as the old one was painted poorly with a Can by the previous owner and was bent out of place . Started pulling her apart and converted her to 5 studs , looking into upgrading to braided lines but been hearing a lot of mixed feed back from them so thoughts on other skyline owners ?

A sneak picture of the missus car next to it :) but all in all quite happy with her , interior dash is fairly good no cracks or bubbles which is a plus !post-121260-13866652604734_thumb.jpg

Update

Just lowered her on tein super street coilovers , sits nice and low but still legal which I enjoy :Dpost-121260-13878950123339_thumb.jpg

And off she went for roadworthy :)post-121260-13878950499979_thumb.jpg

She passed aswell I got a gtr front and rear guards for her more so I can run wider rims and the difference in the hood was surprising post-121260-13878951345036_thumb.jpg

Haha none taken :) it's true it is I believe a base model for a skyline but it's something that makes the car enjoyable instead of just buying a turbo model.

I have an engine for her actually already lined up not going to tell anyone just yet :P but at kits just getting all the suspensions mods and braces placed in before the engine gets put In

Been along time since I've posted. Been a real hectic year but now I've kinda got the time to get back into this again so here I go.

Firstly lets start with this . post-121260-1417772987887_thumb.jpgpost-121260-14177730205505_thumb.jpg

This little one came along:)

Was a track car so I expected the worse so starting to replacing parts here and there.

As this was going on this happened

So now that cars going to insurance and have to deal with fixing this white one quicker stay tuned;)

So the car was in limp mode :( and had problems with the spark ,

Checked the Afm and changed the igniter and coilpacks to see if it would resolve it and nothing .

so after a week of pulling my hair and trying to figure what the heck was wrong I took a look at the wiring in the ecu . Turns out the Afm wiring and the wiring for the coilpacks had been hacked apart D:

So now just re wiring everything even in this weather

    • Yeah now we are talking I much prefer coolers in the front middle because it lessens the chance of a small bump to a corner stopping the whole event. I was thinking the AT cooler can move out of the radiator, delete the AT/engine coolant interwarmer and mount a separate cooler with a thermoswitch somewhere further back as is common in racing, that would be one thing. Beyond that, the engine oil cooler is an obvious one to move to the wheel arch, potentially one on each side, but unused space is an issue. I did have a earlier pic with the bumper off but it doesn't show how busy the corners are: DS is full of the auto driving sensors and PS is totally fully of windscreen washer fluid reservoir But ultimately I was hoping to keep the AC, and the water/air heat exchanger is fundamental so it is not just the radiator that needs to be in front BTW here's airflow to the rad as it ran at the track (one horn is gone now and I'll remove the lights next time):
    • your right the maps for Australia came out in 2017 but are 2010 maps. i got the updated maps SD card put it in and it was the same. Same maps in my Brothers Nissan Patrol. 2020 i think his car is
    • Yeahhhh, the costs have killed me. Spent more than the cost of an engine rebuild and it most mostly servicing and a tune lol.
    • I'm not 100% how the BMW racers do it, but I know from other brands like Merc, moving, and changing the coolers is one of the things. Like getting a transcooler out from infront of the radiator to out near a wheel arch. So some of the stuff you've got crammed in the middle front, spread it out and open up where you can in the bar to get more air in to the sides.
