My car will be tuned at 10am but yeah i wont be there til after work to get it. Lol and ull know which car is mine, the one that looks like its just been theough a nuclear bomb. Edited by boostn0199

If your after a reference this is my r34 gtt, SS2 internal gate on standard manifold using 100 octane, 17.5psi at 3750rpm, 293rwkw

Why does your int gate ss2 seem to hold boost fine but blah_blah mentioned his int gate ss2 dropping off a few psi?

Could be more to do with the car then the turbo

e.g. could be exhaust back pressure problem

My SS2 tapers off up top with ext gate, its only 2psi max, but We think it is probably something in the exhaust. Havent looked into it yet, its not really an issue for me at the moment lol

Cheers Tony

Not too sure why, i changed all intercooler hoses and clamps so there no leaks , my SS2 is the latest one too if that makes a difference too, stao my have a better idea

Yeah I have the revision just before your one that holds boost better

Curious to know what supporting mods you have?

I know my intercooler pipes arent the best and I may have an exhaust restriction

Yep I have the Precision 5558/ 0.63 with 40mm gate off turbo housing and pointing up, turbo is low mount on standard manifold and plumbed back. 286rwkw at 16psi on 98. Boost 18psi dropping to 16psi in the upper rpms. In second it wheel spins around 3700rpms if you come on gas a bit, in third after 5000rpms it pulls reallyy hard to 7500rpms and feels like its got a lot more in it, a great turbo no doubt, think I got issues with my Nistune pulling timing /vct not working because I expected 300rwkw+.

I've got a few skinny weld dags hanging off my cat converter opening - wonder if this is a power robber...

    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
