Club Reg - Need A Recognised Car Club...

Recommended Posts

Hello, just wondering about Club Reg in Victoria - as R32's will now start to be eligible - 2014 minus 1989 is 25 years right? I assume Club Reg is heaps cheaper. There doesn't seem to be an official Skyline Club on the VicRoads site - but there was a Japanese Car Club and a Nissan one too. Anyone a member of them? Any good? Will there be a Skyline one soon now that all Skylines will start to be eligible for Club reg over the next few years?

I suppose you have to weigh up the cost of Club Membership with the rego savings... Dunno if insurance would also be cheaper too tho...

SAU VIC :) Membership renewal is currently $50/year so you've making back the savings in rego costs immediately, not to mention all the other membership benefits like CAMS Affiliation, Club Sponsor Discounts, etc

I'd imagine insurance would be cheaper... First of all, Shannons has a 10% discount if you've got a CAMS membership, and lots of insurance companies also do discounts if your car is not driven all the time, which works in perfectly with Club Registered vehicles

You can have as many as you like

I have a F350 on club reg. Insurance is $170 for full comp through Shannons

nice...is that cheap insurance because its rarely driven ?

My Toyota is 25 next year...and 90 days a year is plenty but whats the deal with modifications etc..do normal road rules still apply

    • It's almost certainly a reluctor generating an "AC" waveform. No, ECUs don't generally read those - they're usually set up for PWM square wave 0-5v stuff.
    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
