Item for sale: custom built 1pc tail shaft by Universal Drive Shaft Services.

Location: Brisbane, Northside.

Contact: Tim 0410 544 487

Price: $600ono

Looking for a new home for this tail shaft that came in a car I've bought recently, someone who can make use of it as it is overkill for my intentions. I've put a stock tail shaft in my car.

This will make an excellent addition to some one with a manual coupe, non abs who is chasing big power.

As you'll see in the photos, it's still in as new condition and was very costly to make.

I am open to offers and swaps for clean GTR seats.

txt me anytime.

Thanks.

The tail shaft is of excellent build quality, I can't imagine it ever having a reliability issue. The previous owner of the car had big HP plans for the car which never came about, being the reason for this tail shaft and the ridiculous clutch that I'm also about to take out of it.

There is nothing wrong with these parts I'm removing, just that they are too much for the car as I want it.

As for vibrations, at first I thought this tail shaft was the cause of a vibration the car has but since changing the diff and tail shaft back to stock items, the vibration is still there. So, I can't fault either of those items for causing a vibration as it's still there. I'm now thinking it might be in the rear wheels or something else like that.

I will get some proper measurements tonight but from memory length is a bit shy of 1400mm overall, width would be a bit shy of 90mm and weight would be about 8kg at a guess just from carrying it on the weekend.

My post code is 4053 at home or 4009 at work, can get it picked up from either. Or I can drop it at Pack&Send Brisbane CBD, I called them today and they said roughly $82 to send to Sydney fully insured and tracked, I took a guess on the weight when I spoke to them though.

I have had someone make an offer via PM but have not got back to me to confirm yet.

Hey guys, tail shaft is still available, although there has been some interest, just waiting for someone to pull the trigger.

In addition to this I now also want to sell the clutch that just came out of the car.

I must warn though, as you will see in the photos, this clutch is not very suited to daily drivers.

It was removed from my car as I'll never make enough hp to need it and I'm driving my skyline daily a at the moment.

Only a few months old and hasn't done many k's, just like the tail shaft.

Looking for $1250ono.

  • 2 weeks later...

No worries, the clutch is much better suited to your car, will be good to see it all back together and racing.

I currently have a $300 offer on the tail shaft, is anyone willing to pay more than that? $400 maybe?

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
