ok guys, so remember this is still only my 4th season of my obsession with F1 but getting my head around everything.

So the questions for you F1 gurus is.

1. the commentator said Riccardo changed to a combustion engine just before the race and will no doubt be penalised? Combustion as opposed to what? is he meaning no turbo??

2. Does red bull reserve the right to pull its middle finger up to Renault and place say a Ferrari engine in its cars for next race?

3. Will Kvyatt get Marko Helmutted for making the overtake so hard for Riccardo?

P.S. just saw on the last page a HD stream. I had a 480p free stream from the Dracula stream site. Wasn't too bad, its free so I cant complain.

1. Changed the combustion engine as opposed to changing the electric engine...I would've thought they were all paired as an entire unit but maybe not.

2. I'd say there's a contract in place for the entire season, and maybe beyond that as well, but there's also probably plenty of clauses for them to get out of it if the engine is a complete dud etc

3. At the end of the day he's allowed to race for position, but it's not gonna do him any favors holding up the main team, even if they are slower at times

Hamilton definitely sooks more than Rosberg over the course of a season.

And when the team tells you to stop being a dick and speed up, you know there's something to it...

He was definitely going slower than was necessary to make the tyres last the stint. You don't normally see people going 1-1.5sec a lap faster in their last couple of laps of a tyre stint - that shows just how easy he was taking it to back Rosberg into Vettel to ensure he had the fresher tyres at the end.

It is funny reading Homo coming out and saying "come on guys this is racing...it is meant to be fun " etc. He is the guy that most looks like he is having teeth pulled and sooking and being all passive/retarded in interviews. But, its great to see he is back in a good space for the moment and not sooking/sulking for a change

RE point 1: they now have to say that someone has changed the combustion engine as them saying engine can be interpreted as the complete power unit with MGU-K and MGU-H along with the combustion engine. (MGU = Motor-Generator U, K=Kinetic (runs off/on the flywheel/Crank) H=Heat (Runs off the Turbo))

Changing a whole power unit is different to just the ICE (Internal combustion engine) I believe the teams are allowed 4 power units now per year and i think this means they can change the ICE and they will still have MGU-K...... etc left. As opposed to doing the power unit and using up 1 of each

I may be wrong but believe this is how it works

89cal is right about the engine vs power unit. The "power unit" consists of 6 items: the internal combustion engine, mgu k, mgu h, energy store, turbocharger and ecu (and associated electronics). The 4 power units rule applies to all but the ecu. So what it essentially means is that you are allowed 4 ICE, 4 turbos, 4 mgu k, 4 mgu h and 4 energy stores. If you use 5 of any 1 of these items then you get a penalty, even if you have only used 1 of all the other items.

So there will be teams that are already onto their second or third ICE already but are on the first of the rest of the power unit.

That is why they won't just swap out a whole power unit each time something fails. If they blow an engine 1 race, and then a turbo the next and then a mgu k the 3rd race then it would count as 3 power units swapped if they changed the whole thing, or just 1 if they change only the damaged item.

BERNIE BEST STICK WITH TRYING TO TAKE HIS OWN PULSE! I hope behind the scence he is doing what actually matters with regards to the success of the sport.

Anyone watch the WEC 6hr race at Silverstone and the 4hr ELMS race on teh Saturday? Cracking racing...and that is Endurance racing that is more excisting then a 60lap sprint F1 crace :(

Rosberg is doing worse than The iceman. Unless he improves very soon then this isn't even going to be a race against 2 drivers. Only Vettel is keeping Mercedes honest.

Dan has a terrible car, highlighted by his team-mate being nowhere and toro rosso getting up there.

oh right, thanks. I got my times mixed up. espn had it listed as "1800 local" and I somehow figured that meant 6pm sydney time. what a maroon!

both espn and formula1.com have buried the race times on this year's site revamps. they've both gone to a f**king awful mobile-friendly layout on their desktop site too. finally figured out to go to espn and click on the calendar then it show you.

meh, i'm not waiting until 12:30 to watch a racing formula I'm losing interest in anyway. if it's good I'll watch it tomorrow after work.

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
