bah, that was just a gentle flop over after bouncing off the tyres. With modern barriers that wouldn't be an issue. Or you could move the wall back. But they'd obviously have more tarmac instead of the gravel trap these days too.

Well, they haven't got an agreement with Renault to supply unbranded engines yet... I imagine Renault would only go ahead with it if they are extremely confident their works PU will be clearly better. Renault engaged Illien at the end of 2014 to help develop their engine. I've read that Renault decided to pursue their own development path rather than use Illien's input...

Have RBR pilfered an ERS guru from another team or something? Otherwise they're probably on a hiding to nothing here.

Building engines probably isn't Renault's problem, it's the associated ERS and "Power Unit" rubbish that teams struggle with.

If the regulations were changed to allow more conventional type engines, fans would enjoy it more and the complexity of design and fabrication would be a lot lower therefore making the units cheaper.

No brainer really.

Talk is the single cylinder prototype yielded improvements. But as RBR were the ones that paid/introduced Illien they are disputing it is their IP and want to own it. I understand that is largely why Renault are kicking on with their own developments and it seems RBR will use the Renault motor as the basis with the Illien tweaks

Also, the talk is its the atual engine and turbo that is weak with the Renault and the energy recovery majic works well

I wonder if Louise can turn the switch back on next year or whether he will go to sleep now he has 3 x WDCs. Mercedes will have us believe development tweaks have moved the car in Rosbergs favour but surely Louise spending too much time in hotel rooms with C-grade rappers and F grade groupies has more to do with it

I wouldn't be surprised if Hamilton has someone employed to teach him how to act to be liked... The way he answers questions now, initially it's what made me stop hating him as he seemed more humble, but these days it's like he's reading straight from a script..

    • I was just driving into work and while on my drive, I went to accelerate and noticed the car would sputter/hesitate and I’d hear a few pops from the exhaust before it started going faster. Then I also noticed that when I push my clutch in, the car would die. This all started happening today. Any ideas?
    • That is a lovely Volvo, just saying. Yes I should have got an 260RS when they were cheap. I do regret now.
    • ^ lots of good points made above. The thing is, "aggressive" or "flush" fitment is relative depending on how much you have been influenced by social media. My starting point is always "look at the Nismo RWD specs". That is where you should start, then start measuring as GTSBoy as sort of mentioned, because every car will be slightly different. My 8.5"+35/9.5+38 will not be "flush" enough for you because you want more "pumped" look, which is why you measure. Tyre sizes and brand/models also make a difference. Some tyres are more chunky/square, some are more rounded. That means you could get away with more aggressive offsets without rubbing. But then it also depends on your ride height. Also depends on how much your car copped damage before being shipped from Japan. So it goes back to measuring your car yourself and determining what can work. Those Nismo specs are used bacause it's a safe spec for standard car (suspension. body) with chunky tyres. But then I put 265/35 wide tyres on R34 GT-R wheels, and currently run 285/30 tyres on 18x10 wheels.
    • Sounds pretty awesome. I recommend creating a new build thread and posting all your goodness in there.
