Hi All,

My wifes iPhone 4 is showing signs of terminal illness. Its been dropped, trodden on, spilt on, drooled on..... You get the idea. The fact it is still alive is amazing.

So, we're looking for a cheapie to replace it with. Don't want to go on a contract, amaysim is just too good.

So, the one I've been thinking about is the LG L7 II but I'll consider anything, android OR apple, doesn't matter. She browses, takes photos and calls/texts. Pretty simple stuff.

Got anything I might like?

Thanks,
Christian

I thought about the Y550 originally but read some average reviews about it. It'd be good to get a semi-decent camera which it doesnt seem to have.

Prefer not Windows. Our lives are Mac-surrounded and it was hard enough to get her to OK an Android (I have a Galaxy.)

Oneplus One is good.

Has a screen issue where yellow tint shows as the brightness is turned all the way up.

Few ebay stores have them, or Longz could hook you up :)

get the iphone 4 repaired for a cheap option or second hand 5?

Yeah the iPhone has been repaired so many times that I dont know if it'd survive another one.

Invite? For a phone?

Anything below $400 won't have a decent camera, unless you get a repaired/2nd hand phone (I bought a Xperia Z2 for ~$400 off here last year).

Grab another iPhone? 4S? Since you're already in the Apple ecosystem.

Have you tried the oneplus one phone ?

Price is $350 USD send to a freight forwarder have it landed for $400-420 AUD

they dont ship direct to aus.

By the time you take exchange into account, plus shipping from the states, it ends up being approx 470+

Also, a lot of very unhappy people on the forums over their customer service (or lack of) with warranty concerns.

Don't get me wrong, great phone for the price, but local support would be better.

I've got the xperia z2, and loving it.

Being water resistant comes in handy too.

Hope this helps.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
